Living in Weymouth we decided to try out the Tapas restaurant, being a Monday night we were not expecting it busy, but were slightly taken aback when entering the waiter was sat down reading a book and only got up when we asked fir a table !anyway we ordered our tapas. all sounded tempting, after waiting nearly 30 mins for our food bearing in mind we were at that time the only ones eating our food arrived another waiter pointed out what each tapas was, my Spanish potato and onion tortilla was just a tasteless potato cake, my prawns were cooked with their shell on and again were tasteless, the Chorizo cooked with kidney beans was Luke warm and the chorizo was the cheapest around.
Now I know we are not in Spain, but why oh why do people who have no experience at all of cooking think that us Brits will buy into their concept of eating food cooked with no passion or idea of flavours and all done on the cheap.
My advice would be to get a flight to Barcelona and take a walk up The Ramblas and see how it's done.
You need to love what you are serving for it to love you back
