I took my parents here to celebrate their 40th anniversary whilst on hols with them and my brothers family. We were not disappointed! The place was very quiet on a Thursday lunchtime but that just meant we had dedicated service! We all had starters which were crazy yummy. My scallops were amazing and plenty of them! Everything was so fresh!

Mains were stunning. I had the mussels and frites and was not disappointed! The mussels were big and juicy and there were plenty of them! And the frites were crazy yummy! Everyone else's mains were amazing. They were huge portions too!

Desserts were nice but you go to this place for the fish, not the puds (although they weren't bad at all).

All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable meal and well worth the money for the freshest seafood! Would go back in a heartbeat.

Floods is a small, cosy restaurant in the heart of the Old Harbour area of Weymouth. It has an excellent menu of a wide variety of freshly caught seafood - everything from red and grey mullet to lobster thermidore and scallops. The food is very reasonably priced for the quality and our meals were both excellent. I started with scallops (3 beautful and large scallops presented in a large shell) and followed this with their 'medley of fish' - which included bream, mullet, cod, seabass and prawns. Both courses were superb.

Booked for a lunch while on our holidays here for a special occasion . Being the only customers there it was nice and quick service by a friendly waitress .
It's a very small restaraunt but nice and light . We all ordered starters which came out nice and hot and quick . Very simply cooked but fresh and tasty .
For mains we had a selection of fresh offerings which didn't disappoint. The monkfish and scallops looked very good .
Just after our mains we saw a fresh batch of crabs make its way to the kitchen just off a day boat across the road which established a very good fresh local source !!
Desserts were nice although the cheesecake wasn't my cup of tea and I love my cheescake. Bit too creamy and the base was a bit dusty .
The final bill was reasonable for the 6 of us , about £30 per head for 3 courses and a drink .
Worth a visit for some good simply cooked fresh local fish .

We happened on this place by chance, looking for somewhere to serve us fish and seafood straight from the sea and were not disappointed. The starter of razor clams in a chilli and lemon butter was sublime and the lobster and turbot we had to follow were cooked to perfection. The accompaniments were spot on and we even found room for dessert, both of which were light and refreshing. The wine was excellent (we had Bantry Bay Chenin Blanc) and the service was great, overcoming our initial concerns about being seated pretty much in the way between the kitchen and main seating area. This is the definitive place to go if you want to experience the best of the local catches.
