“Homely feeling”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

We stayed here on our first visit to Weymouth. Upon arrival we met Rob who was very friendly and gave us a quick low-down on what was what.

We stayed in the #5 room, which was a twin and had a recently refurbished bathroom. Ideal location on the seafront and about a 10 minute walk to the town centre.

The rooms were very clean and the breakfasts were brilliant - everything cooked to order and you could customize the choices.

We only had a couple of slightly negative comments; as our room window was facing east the curtains could had benefited from some blackout material as the room was light at around 7AM (thinking of June / July this would probably be earlier). Secondly the car park is tight - I have a Toyota Auris and it was sometimes tricky getting it in, not a lot can be really done here but if you have a medium to large car then it could be tricky.

Overall a nice stay, very friendly and helpful staff, very clean and just right.

Lovely hotel right on the beach.
Room very comfortable, we stayed in the downstairs 2 double bed room No2. Nice bathroom with separate shower and bath.
Excellent breakfast, and all round good service.
Rob makes you feel very welcome, and there is a lounge bar for guests on the first floor with view of the beach.

We used to stop her with our boys 15+ years ago so my husband and I stayed again lately a fantastic homely hotel. New owners but standard as good as ever, and friendly staff. Excellent breakfast cooked fresh as you wait. Rooms cleaned daily and fresh towels.

Balcony available for you sit out on and bar available in lounge.

Room Tip: Rooms spacious and comfortable.

We booked the hotel the evening before arrival and Rob the owner was excellent in sorting out the details. Rob is an excellent host, very friendly and genuinely pleased to help - he has a fantastic knowledge of the area and gave good recommendations for restaurants and bars. In fact all of the staff are very friendly. The hotel is is a good location, and the rooms are clean, the bathroom had been recently refurbished. The information pack in the room was very comprehensive. The 'honesty' bar in the lounge is a great idea, and the views are teriffic. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and was of a high standard with good ingredients. we shall certainly return!

First impressions were not great as the flowers and bushes outside looked as they cloudy have had more care. However, we found our rooms, although a little small, to be perfectly clean and the beds very comfortable. The bathroom was very large and had been refitted so was very nice but there are still a few little finishing touches needed. Our rooms were at the back of the hotel so nice and quiet, except for the seagulls. The lounge and honesty bar were very welcome and we were normally the only ones there. The first day we stepped out onto the little balcony with lovely sea view. It could be difficult for the elderly or infirm to step through the window to access the balcony. We were very grateful for the honesty bar and the games in the lounge. The breakfast was the highlight. Fruit and cereal, fruit juices, great range of jams and perfectly cooked full English or any combination. The staff were all friendly and helpful. A nice cosy B and B in a great location a Ross the road from the beach and within easy walk of the main shops and harbour. We enjoyed our short stay.

The previous reviews all painted a 'too good to be true' picture - but they were all correct ! Stayed for four days in room 3 with a balcony overlooking the bay - room well appointed and very comfortable and clean. The 'honesty bar' is quite an innovation as is Rob's knowledge of Weymouth and area. Staff very friendly and attentive without being in your face, yet nothing is too much trouble for them and Rob. Rob's breakfast thoroughly merits the recent AA Award - more than enough to satisfy even the largest morning hunger. The parking at the rear is a huge bonus as on-street is time limited and quite expensive. Don't bother to dress for the beach - just put your cozzie on and run across the road. Looking at some of the other places on The front, the Esplanade is by far the best. Hope to book again for next year.

Room Tip: Room 3, first floor, with balcony., or any sea facing 2nd floor room.
