DO NOT GO! "Greed" is how I will discribe this camp site! We have camped a few places in our time, but this was not a touring field, this is an acre of trash! It's like Teletubbie land! The pitches for the tents were not even or on a nice flat piece of land, we ended up right at the bottom tucked away near bushes! We just about had space to park our car, which was fortunate as the shower/toilet block seemed like a mile away walking! They have no portaloo in the field so when you have to go in the night, it's a long walk. Though we heard many zips being opened thoughout the night and people just "going" on the grass around their tents oron their neighbours tents!!!! At 10.30pm kids were still being loud and playing around our tent. Gone midnight, adults could still be heard talking and laughing, this was due to over crowding and being like sardines, you couldn't help but hear EVERYTHING! I had 3 people snoring and teenage girls giggling around me! When we thought all was quiet, the BULLS in the field right next to us started MOOING! We hated it from night 1. We wanted to go home straight away, but we had gone to Weymouth for a reason and couldn't come home. The bar they have, you couldn't swing a cat around. The bingo caller was very funny and friendly though! It is just a free for all, so get there early so you can get yourself a hill, opps I mean a spot before everyone else comes in and you end up not being able to erect your tent, then you are stuffed! As one person has already said, you pitch your tent where you can, and if you can't then.......... NEVER ever again would we go here and NEVER ever would we reccomend this site. DO NOT GO! (Though the shower block was nice)!!!!

We booked to stay at this campsite with 5 weeks notice, they took a deposit and even emailed confirmation to say that we "looked forward to seeing you". I then received a phonecall whilst packing on the Thursday evening to tell me they had overbooked and we couldn't come any more. (!!!!!!!!)
We had looked forward to our long weekend for ages, so was very disappointed, with hardly any sorry and no explanation they told me there was nothing they could do. They had blatantly taken a larger booking for a group and taken the money - NOT good when you have booked for your small holiday.
May be a nice place - but be aware. The Rosewell campsite down the road seem very accomodating - we all need reliability!!!

We are not camping fanatics. However, Pebble Bank was a pretty good place to camp, overall.

We pitched our tent in a CLEARLY LABELLED pitch which had been levelled out well. The shower/toilet block was a bit of a trek but it was generally CLEAN (although the men's regularly ran out of toilet roll). The showers were CLEAN and HOT and were FREE! The washing up room was fine, although no plugs meant that more water was
used than necessary.

The site had a bar, which was SMALL and quite expensive. The barmaid wasn't rude exactly, but she was definitely apathetic in her job (no hearty reception here).

The local taxi firm, Weyline, does a £5.50 standard fare journey to town, which was handy (and cheaper than Weymouth parking).

The site's location was superb, with views over the English Channel, Portland and Chesil Beach.

There are NO RECYCLING facilities on the site - poor show.

My friend and I stayed for a week in a fixed 2-bedroom caravan at this site, while we were competing in a dinghy championship at the new Olympic Centre. The caravan was clean and well equipped, though we had to bring our own linen. It was ideal for our purpose, we had our own breakfast, sailed all day, and crashed out with a take-away in the evening.
One gripe was the television. Although there was Freeview, the signal was too weak. We could never watch BBC, some of the time we could get nothing, most often we could just get ITV1. The office were friendly but a bit disorganised. When we arrived, the caravan we were allocated was already occupied and they had no idea who was in it. However, we were allocated another caravan and all was well.
Currently there are major road works in Weymouth. Portland and Pebble Bank are virtually cut off from Weymouth in one direction. It is a major detour to get to into town, though the direct route back is ok.
By the way, we had a marvelous week's sailing.

This was the first time we had camped. Being new to camping we were unsure how to book or what to expect for our money.
On arrival we were given a ticket and told to go to camping field and find a space.....
We managed this fairly easily - and pitched our tent with no problems.
We found the site to be fine - suitable for our needs - clean toilets and showers, and a short distance from Weymouth., and Tesco express very close by.
We did see the laundry room - which seemed fine also - but we had now need to use it as only stayed one night.
On the whole we found the place very suitable for one tent , one car, 2 adults and 2 children - £19.50 per night. No complaints. But we have never been anywhere else to compare it to (yet!)

I second the good reviews – the bad ones bear no resemblance to the site as it is now.
Pebble Beach is in a stunning location overlooking Chesil Beach and the Weymouth bay area. The reception staff were friendly on arrival, as were the evening bar staff in the small bar. They have entertainment there, but not while we were there midweek.
The field is a bit ramshackle in that pitches are close together and people don’t seem to understand the personal marked areas. However, we had no problem in our small campervan in finding a superb spot at the front. We woke to fantasic views of the sea and I have no complaints about that. The shower facilities had been recently renovated and you do not have to pay to use them. Showers were hot, clean and spacious. They were cleaned a couple of times a day. An added bonus is the sockets where you can plug your own hairdryer or straighteners in at no cost! The wash block is a fair walk down a slope from the camping field but not a problem for campervan pitches.

The site is located about 5 mins drive from Weymouth town centre. The site has a deal with local taxi company for £5.80 fares to and from Weymouth town. We walked in (20 mins up and down hills) and got a cab back later in the evenings. The town is superb for a huge choice of pubs and restaurants. It is still a proper fishing harbour town and many of the pubs were still local and atmospheric.

Overall I was really impressed with this site. It is in a great location and the friendly atmosphere made it a pleasure to stay there. It was cheap too - £20 a night. We went on to stay at Durdle Door for £28 and Swanage at £35 in the same week.

After reading the mixed feedback we were a little apprehensive at what we might find when arriving at Pebble Bank, but after a lovely two night stay we felt compelled to say please ignore the bad reviews!!! The location is stunning, so peaceful and calm with the panoramic views. I think its a bonus that there are no set pitches, the camping area is to the back of the caravan site, which we thought had even better views. The showers were modern and free, they work on a sensor and you can't control the temperature so this could be a problem for some but they were clean and warm. The loo block had a socket point, handy for a hairdryer. There is a tesco express just under a mile away and Weymouth town is also a short drive away. There was a bar on the site open in the evenings, can't comment on that as we didn't use this. My only criticism would be the £20 per night charge as it is a small site, however this seemed to be the average for many sites this year we looked at (New Forest).
