“Excellent location & friendly owner”
Reviewed March 17, 2013

My mum & I stayed this weekend for 2 nights. I reserved a room via email and although room 4 was already taken we did get a choice if two, and opted for room 5. A twin with nice big bay window overlooking the beach, sea & fair. The window seat was a bonus. Dave the owner is a lovely friendly chap, there at breakfast to take your order & have a little chat. The breakfast was tasty & good quality. We both had full English on both mornings. There were also cereals, fruit, juice etc. we got a parking space right outside the b&b with a bit of luck, and Dave gave us a permit so free parking all weekend.
The room was a decent size, the only niggle is the shower. It shoots all over the place & could do with updating at some point. It was warm though!
The location is great. Right next to the beach and harbour! It was nice & quiet at night, much quieter than the times we have stayed further along the beach. This said, the location is the best!
Next time we stay I'd like to get the elusive room 4! Book early!
There's a terrace outside overlooking the harbour, it rained all weekend so we couldn't enjoy it. Next time the sun might shine!

Stayed 2 nights and nothing dreadful, decent enough but 5 star ratings a little over the top. We had the triple room 8 and therefore paid a little more (our choice so no complaints there). We have certainly stayed in far worse but have also had better for less. I am sure the rooms overlooking the harbour have great views and the back patio will be great in the summer so don't let me put you off just have reasonable expectations. If we were disappointed it was only because some of the reviews are in our opinion are over the top.

We stayed for a one night stay and booked at short notice on a Friday in January. We checked in later than we had at first anticipated, and were welcomed with the warm and friendly proprietor, Dave. We decided to have a quick drink in the beautifully decorated bar, complete with a stylised wooden compass inlaid in the floor. Happily, there was Bombay Sapphire amongst a range of other good quality drinks available.

We were lucky enough to have bagged what I think is probably the best room in the house - Room 4. Up 2 flights of stairs and worth every one of them. The balcony (big enough for 2 chairs, and not the plastic variety, either) was fabulous, affording stunning views of the harbour at night. It was quiet and we had no problems with noise etc.

The room itself was top end, and would give most London hotels a run for their money. It was clean, fresh and modern with the occasional nod to the past with it's antique corner chairs. The en-suite was immaculately clean, the shower was excellent and the complimentary toiletries were branded. Clever bedside lighting that was touch sensitive proved interesting after a night out, but gave us a giggle!!

The bed was a pleasure to sleep in, with plenty of pillows and covers. The tea and coffee making facilities were very welcome, as were the biscuits.

The morning was uncommonly warm for the time of year, and to this end we were able to open up the French windows leading on to the balcony and enjoy the morning sun, watching the people walk by along the harbour.

The food should not go without mention, either. Dave and his chef are both superb. The fare is tasty and well presented, and should not be missed! It is worth getting up that extra half hour early to fill up for the day :)

Having checked out in the morning, we enjoyed a coffee in the morning sun on the terrace watching the world go by.

If there is a finer place to stay in Weymouth, I would be wide-eyed with amazement. Great location, great value, great hosts and a really rather lovely dog called Tally. I will most definitely be staying here again. Thank you Dave for a marvellous stay.

Room Tip: All rooms have a sea view or harbour view - you can't go wrong, really. No lift.

Nice room to the rear overlooking the harbour. Room a little small and so was the en-suite. I was a pity that there was no way to leave the balcony door open securely as the room was a little stuffy. Breakfast was good. Probably would not stay again but a very central location.

We had a room overlooking the harbor with a little balcony, it was absolutely delightful. Dave the host was very kind and even provided us with free parking passes, and it is not easy to find parking in Weymouth. The breakfast times were very flexible and the breakfast itself was very good, especially the fish choice. There was also quite a well stocked bar if you fancied a drink before or after dinner.
The Wi-Fi was free and easy to access. We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the harbor.

We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the room (at the top of the house). It had a new bathroom which although small was very agreeable. Dave, the owner was very helpful and served an excellent breakfast. Easy to park outside and we were lent a parking permit.
