“basic B&B not "sumptuous rooms in a boutique hotel" as they say on their website”
Reviewed May 30, 2013

We booked before the recent reviews and based our choice on the hotel's own website. If they had said they were a basic B&B I would not be complaining, but it is annoying to be mislead.
It is exactly as the travellers photos show and as poor as the other bad reviews. I have nothing to add that is positive.
I would not stay here again.

Room Tip: What can I say ? We were "Upgraded" to room 10 what was the down grade like?

We didn't stay here but we came for cocktails two nights running.
The decor was lovely, great choice of drinks, and some good happy hour deals.
If we hadn't already booked our accommodation elsewhere we would have liked to stay!

Had lovely time at the Acqua Beach. We had a sea view room with balcony which was excellent . Traffic can be a bit noisy at the front but wouldnt stop me having a sea view room again. Staff were very helpful, breakfast was very nice. Would definately stay here again.

We were so, so disappointed by our stay at the Aqua Beach. The owners have done a half hearted rebrand but everything in our room (room10) referred to the place as The Concord Hotel.
Our room looked like a youth hostel & nothing like the rooms on the website. Certainly not worth the £75 we had to pay! The first thing we were confronted with was 3 tier bunk beds, holes in the walls where doors had bashed & curtains so thin they were as effective as badly stained net curtains.
The building is old so we would expect a little unevenness here & there. The floor in the bedroom sloped alarmingly but no attempt has been made to level the furniture with small wooden blocks. The result was my partner sleeping downhill from me.
Whilst in the shower the following morning I was disgusted to find a soiled plaster stuck to the cubical wall by a previous resident. The bathroom itself was a dark & dingy little hole with a revolting light pull stained by many dirty hands.
There was no useful shelves, hooks or storage space.
The only good points were the very friendly & helpful housekeeper and the view.
I've added photos of what you will actually find in any room you book.
We wanted to give our custom to an independent hotel but in future I think we will use the bland, but fit for purpose Premier Inn so's not to have any more nasty surprises.

Visited Easert Saturday and stayed just the one night as came down for a party. Room was tucked away on first floor right in the corner, but it looked clean and fresh. Bathroom was huge and looked recently refurbished, it was perfect for what we wanted. Beds were really comfy which makes a change, Popped into the bar which was decorated in a both modern and old fashioned way and it was very welcoming. Cocktails are 2 for 1 in happy hour and were great. Sat in windown and watched world go by. Breakfast was fine. Cereal and cooked breakfast available. If coming down, please request parking space when booking, as we didn't but were fortunate enough to get the last "unbooked" one as we arrived before the other guests. Felt it was really good value for money

Breakfast nice, so was dining room, but the room 11 we were allocated was awful, paid for a sea view and what did the owners do, put a double bed in front of the window so had to kneel up on the bed to see out, otherwise had a view of a small room.. Shower room was disgusting god knows what they did with the tiles, was not big enough to swing the proverbial cat ! ... The bar was only open on a Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and we were only there Mon/Thurs, despite it said in the blurb BAR.. No WiFi in all areas as claimed certainly not in our room .. The only plus is the girl that served us breakfast was lovely

Room Tip: Don't ask for room 11

On arriving at this hotel/guest house within the suggested hours we were unable to get a response from staff for approx 10 minutes and unfortunately there was a gale force wind and it was bitter cold waiting on the step with our luggage. The housekeeper apologised and the delay was caused by her vacuuming on the top floor.

Our room was not to the standard that we were expecting and we feel that it would benefit from an update. The hotel location is great and the breakfast was good. We will look for alternative accommodation for our next visit to Weymouth.
