The Marlboro is right next to the harbour. Staff are cheerful and courteous. Choice of food is huge. Eat in or out. Mackerel freshly cooked. Very tasty. Large portion. Chips plentiful

Popped in recently and had the now famous makrel bap which came with half chips & half salad. All was very nice with the chips being chunky and crispy, the makrel bap being fresh and tasty, and the salad which came with sliced pickled beetroot which went well with the makrel. Would visit again if I was in the area. Not the biggest sit down areas, we got there just after 12 and it was pretty full by twenty past.

We called in late in the evening, just before closing time, but were given such a warm welcome, followed by the best fish & chip supper we had experienced for many a year. The price was good too!!

We went to this restaurant on the 29th October 2012. We both ordered haddock, chips and mushy peas, my daughter had only taken a couple of bites of fish, when she started taking bones out of her mouth. She stopped counting after ten, and gingerly started checking each piece before putting it into her mouth. I thought mine was ok until I started finding bones in mine also. This puts off eating anymore. We were not asked at any point if the meal was ok, if we wanted anything else, just given the bill. Before we took a bite we noticed the salt cellar had a large crack down the side which had caused the salt to become damp and clump together we asked the waitress if we could have another as it was cracked she said nothing snatched it from my hand and placed on another table before getting another eventually. Presumably this salt cellar was ok for the next people in, to have a dangerous cutting hazard from the crack and clumped salt as far as this waitress was concerned? As an aside the entrance is quite dangerous, badly lit with a step down just inside the door.

I visited this fantastic fish and chip restaurant again in September. This time bringing my mother with me, she was just as impressed as I am, describing this as the best fish and chips she has ever tasted. This coming from a fishmongers daughter is praise indeed. I just so wished we lived nearer than the three hour car drive in each direction. Another reason to add to the desire to live in Weymouth one day!
