I loved The Cottage, a beautiful setting in a great location. The owners were very friendly and helpful with my stay and places to visit in Dorset. Also a wide range of choice for breakfast, all very fresh and brilliantly done, highly recommendable to everyone.

Booked 2 rooms, had to place an international call to book as they only take bookings on the phone. They promised to email me a confirmation - it never arrived. Placed another international call to confirm the booking and was told "its in the book" and confirmed. Requested email confirmation - it never arrived.
When we arrived at the Cottage we were told they only had 1 room available and NOT 2 as booked. The owners were very indigent and uncaring.
We had to find other accommodation which as it happened turned out to be much better than the Cottage looked.

So sorry to read your review especially as the facts are not as we believe them to be. Firstly we have always taken booking by emails and always send out confirmations. Secondly you only booked one double room which we held for you even though we had not received an acceptance from our confirmation email. When you arrived and said that you needed another single room I invited you in and offered to try to sort out alternative accommodation but you refused and left without giving me the chance to help in any way and were left with an empty double room.

Very comfortable, if small, double room. Excellent breakfast with locally sourced & home-made ingredients. Made to feel very welcome, and given lots of local advice as to where to eat, park etc. The conservatory was a lovely place to have breakfast. The only fly in the ointment is the shared bathroom - this isn't immediately obvious from the website. However, everything was immaculately clean & I would definitely recommend a stay here if you don't mind sharing washroom facilities (although they do have one room with en-suite).

What more could you want - warm friendly hosts, and a delightful room with such a comfy bed! At night it was so quiet - we could almost hear the stars!! We did hear owls though! We were able to walk to the beach, and then come back and sit in the garden - so relaxing and peaceful. In the morning we were given a great English breakfast - and even the jam was home made. I would not hesitate The Cottage to friends for a relaxing break near the coast.
