Two teachers looking for a quiet getaway - We visited Sea Barn Farm towards the end of May half term 2013 and it exceeded our expectations. You can camp either looking east or looking west and both have great views. Lots of choice for were to pitch up. No pitch was too far from the toilet block which was always clean. Would definitely return for the amazing sunsets!

On advice from friends we decided to go at the last minute. We did not book but just turned up. As other reviewers have noted one of the receptionists appears less than comfortable interacting with customers(happier looking at the computer screen, like lots of others!) but perhaps as we'd read them this was less of a problem, she sorted us, advised us and we found a brilliant pitch overlooking Chesil Beach. We loved the site, the walks and the peace. Yes there are numerous "don't do this" statements but then everyone knew how to behave and we felt this was the basis of the overall very good state of the site. We did visit the West Fleet Farm just across the road and had a couple of things to eat, all quite good and not over expensive, it was primarily catering for families and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Room Tip: Unless you've been allocated an electric pitch have a walk around the site, it's better than...

Just returned from 2 nights at sea barn farm with my 11yr old so.
We pitched in the small area behind the shop which gave us amazing views. The whole site is fairly exposed to wind but its expected and added to the fun, especially as it changed direction frequently which had me re-siting the windbreak much to my sons amusement.
The site is immaculate and everything is easy to find, the shower block is the best I've ever seen and as long as you choose your time well it's never too busy.
Shop has pretty much everything you need and most things are not overly expensive.
Lots of people have banged on about the rules...... Go somewhere else if you don't like it. The website clearly states whats expected...... It's refreshing to actually be able to sleep and wake up fresh to enjoy your holiday.
The sister site has a lovely pool and clubhouse with decent entertainment which was a nice bonus.
I will definitely be back to this quiet, well run and immaculate site.
We had torrential rain the first night but the site drains very well.
Thanks for a wonderful 3 days....... See you again soon.

Room Tip: Find a level pitch as site is quite hilly.

I stayed at Sea barn farm for 4 nights from 31st July - 4th August with 7 friends (6 boys and 2 girls all of us 21 years old). I was apprehensive about staying here after reading the rules on the website as I was concerned that the staff may target us due to our age. When we arrived, despite our attempt at making conversation and smiling until our cheeks hurt, the lady behind the counter in the shop was not awfully welcoming and handed us a sheet of rules which made me feel guilty even though I knew that we would have no issue in following them. We were able to choose our own pitch and since the site wasn't too busy we found a nice little area in the corner with an amazing view of the lagoon. The toilets and showers were easy to access and were extremely clean and inviting. Once we had pitched our tent my boyfriend and I had a wander to the shop to buy a badminton set. After attempting to engage the lady behind the counter in conversation and failing miserably, I asked if I could pay by card and was quite taken aback when she replied quite abruptly stating that the cost had to be higher than £5 in a tone which implied I was stupid to ask. After this we did not visit this shop and walked to the shop on the sister campsite where the staff were much more friendly and the stock was much better.
On the first night of our stay we decided to visit the clubhouse which was situated at the sister campsite. Although the food was satisfactory, we felt it was slightly overpriced. We also found this when we went for breakfast on our final day. We waited in the queue for a good twenty minutes before being served and for almost an hour for our food to come which we wouldn't have minded had the food been hot and of good quality. However, although we were not immensely impressed by the food, overall we enjoyed our stay as the campsite was clean and was situated at a fair distance from Weymouth town centre which was picturesque - the only thing I would not suggest is climbing aboard the train to sealife as we could have walked it in a shorter amount of time and almost got a parking ticket due to it being late and getting stuck in traffic!
On our third day we arrived back from our trip into the town centre to find that we had been bombarded by tents and had had our parking space stolen! WORD OF WARNING do not expect a great deal of space away from others.
Since the cost per night was fair and due to the fantastic views, relaxing atmosphere and superbly clean facilities, I would recommend sea barn farm to others and may visit myself in the future although I may avoid the shop and clubhouse.

Room Tip: Choose a good pitch where others may not go!

I had the pleasure of a long weekend here with friends at the beginning of July.

We pitched in the first field looking out over the sea. This field is probably the most exposed to the wind off the sea but you are right opposite the shop and the new toilet block.

The toilet block, wow, there are some hotels out there that could learn from these facilities. Heated floors, separate showers and dressing areas with shaver sockets, toilets, all spotless. It also benefited from family bathrooms and along the back wall there were sinks for washing your equipment up too. Very impressive.

The camp shop is more like something from the 60's but it had all the essentials and is also where you check in.

Rules, there are a few and they are enforced if you don't adhere to them as others have mentioned previously. On the plus side its a well behaved site from what we could see and a thoroughly enjoyable time was had as a result.

We also visited the sister site and used the pool/bar/restaurant there on several occasions all very good although considerably busier and noisy with kids whizzing about the place.

Niggles, none really a great camp site with great views and well equipped toilet facilities. Observe the rules and everything should be ok.

I hope to come back soon.

We stayed for a week end of July, there's not loads to say! Great location, good shop, pool nice, both toilet blocks are very clean and a pleasure to use. Good play areas for kids and it feels safe. That's the good stuff! now the downside..... there are rules posted EVERYWHERE and clearly enforced, I saw someone being asked to leave the site for breaking a rule, whilst this clearly leads to a "well behaved" campsite, the atmosphere is not particularly friendly and it all feels a little military! It's disappointing to see this as consistent feedback from visitors for some time now and nothing is changing! Management, take note! Staff are indifferent at best and there is a stark contrast between the friendliness of the website versus reality. Wouldn't make a huge effort to go back.

First time here but the views were great. Went on the circular walk and a gentle climb is far from gentle, however we were at the bottom and had no choice but to climb back up.
The toilet block (new one) was very nice and clean, but inadequate as there are just not enough. They pack people in but this leaves the facilities way short. Queued for ages. Lots of noisy and unsupervised kids running about.
Weymouth is super
