We eat at the Boat once or twice a month, the food is good honest pub food, servings are generous and tasty, I would say though in my opinion the puddings are pretty pricey. We take the family occasionaly and I would say it would nice to see a change in the kids menu, its a bit average, other places we go to often just have portions of the adult menu for children, much better that the usual, scampi, sausage, lasagne and chips, kids like variety. One other thing, please do something about the door that bangs every time someone comes in its very annoying. That said its a nice place to go and will be visiting there again this weekend!!!!

This place is an absolute must. Beautifully located alongside the Dee.. scrummy food (steak pie and burgers highly recommended) and staffed by genuinely friendly, helpful people. The place was packed on a Saturday afternoon/early evening with a good mix of customers and an excellent vibe. Loved the novelty of the hourly circuit of the high level model trains.. (as did 99.9% of the other diners!) All in all a highly enjoyable visit and we very much look forward to returning to stay longer. Well worthy of a visit.. Thank you.

Only a one night stopover but very pleasant stay. Room accommodation was very good, very clean, spacious and warm. We had a slight problem with a plug in a sink not working but staff could not have been more helpful and we easily changed rooms. Had evening meals of steak pie and fish and chips - nicely cooked, good portions and tasty. Breakfast was a good set up for the day. A great location - directly adjacent to the river Dee.

Room Tip: Room 1 very spacious

Title says it all really, it was an average food experience, starter was nice (smoked venison) with a tasty relish. Main course was rabbit ragu, which was basically 2 large portions of rabbit in a rich thick sauce, but all I could taste was the rabbit, Took the family and everyone else enjoyed their meals but it wasn't outstanding. Wouldn't bother again.

I have visited the Boat Inn on a regular basis over the last few years and visited for lunch with the normal high expectations. However it appears things have changed considerably, the previous extensive menu had been drastically reduced (admittedly this was at lunchtime) and whilst the food was good the choice was pretty limited. I don't know if they offer a larger range of dishes on their evening menu.

Somehow the place appeared to have lost some of it's sparkle, I don't know if it has changed hands but it just did not seem the same.

Stayed on business this week. Had a lovely meal of steak pie served by friendly staff. Issues only arose when I went to bed, which was situated off a connecting corridor to the bar area. The door across from my room slammed constantly until around 10:40pm. The walls were wafer thin so I heard next rooms telephone conversation and to cap it all, when anyone turned on a tap (oh, forgot to mention, the rooms have a hideous kitchenette) you couldn't hear your TV. Totally drowned out by the noise from the pipes. I stay away most weeks and rarely leave reviews. Even though the menu is limited, I would recommend for this place for food. But I'll never stay again as the constant noise is shocking!
