Wonderful venue, great charity in a wonderful setting. Sadly the food lets it down, doesn't appear very fresh and the cakes have gone downhill lately. Such a shame as this could be a little goldmine for the charity.

It's a few years since we made the wee trip off the A93 to Belwade. I knew from my membership a lot had changed and so on a gorgeous Easter Saturday when Aboyne was the hottest place in the UK we made a visit.
As a horse lover I was so impressed with the buildings, the care of the land and most of all the way the horses, ponies and donkeys all looked. The history of some of these animals is horrific and the Centre does try to re-home as many as possible, they work really hard.
The cafe is great as well, a fantastic addition. The people volunteering there even put their tips in to the Charity.
We went on the red walk, didn't take us an hour but a super walk. Met some gorgeous inhabitants how in the main were very friendly. Four young horses only came over due to our dog!
Really I'd advise a visit even if you're not a horse lover - there are fantastic cakes for sale!
Well done on the changes ILPH

We went early, around 12 on Mothers Day.They were fully booked for the event, but graciously seated us at a lovely table. The service was perfect , the food delicious. 2 courses for £18! It was excellent value for the price we paid.

Why did we not know about this before!!
We will return, for sure,
Thank you Gill,
See you very soon!

We missed the tour unfortunately but were still able to wander round and meet some of the horses and a donkey with character. Everyone was so friendly and the views are fabulous. I would encourage anyone to visit this fantastic cause - the food and drinks in the cafe was great too!

After my daughter raised money for the charity World Horse Welfare we decided to travel to their center at Aboyne to give them the money in person. I am so glad we did. What a wonderful place. We enjoyed an excellent tour and learnt so much about horses and horse welfare. There are some very sad cases of horse rescue but when you see how the center cares for the horses its marvelous. They also have very good audio visual area with lots of interesting presentations about horse. There are some excellent family walks to be had around the grounds and viewing the horses at the same time. There is also an excellent cafe. What more do you want for great day out.
