“Birthday Treat at the Cart Shed”
Reviewed November 5, 2018 for a stay in November 2018

John and Katy should be very proud of the holiday retreat they have built. The Cart Shed is set in a lovely area with open views over farmland and woodland, having a good variety of wildlife including a family of deer that ran in front of us during our morning walk.

The cottage is finished to an exceptional standard but the best part our stay was our wonderful hosts. John and Katy really care and couldn’t do enough to ensure you want for nothing.

I had a wonderful birthday weekend and look forward to booking again next year. A huge thank you to Katy for her delicious homemade birthday cake (as well as the biscuits for the dogs).

A five star experience from start to finish and we would highly recommend staying here, it won’t disappoint.

“Swallows Nest”
Reviewed October 8, 2018 for a stay in October 2018

A lovely little get away cottage. The hosts Katy and John were very welcoming and friendly. Arriving to a welcome hamper of fresh bread some lovely boozy jam and some homemade scones really made it feel homely.

The cottage itself was warm and light with an amazing log burning fire (which we did use and it was fantastic.) A very quiet and peaceful place with some lovely views overlooking several bird feeders which were frequently visited by local pheasants, squirrels and several breeds of little birds.

The beds were very comfy and all little things one might need was generally already thought of and provided.

An Impressive aspect was the thought that had gone into being eco friendly providing appropriately labelled bins allocating what items went where...not something you come across very often.

Over all a great place to get away. Located not too far away from the local village to get all your little bits and pieces.

Our 4th stay here with three young children and The Cart Shed at Swallow’s Nest does not lose its appeal.
John and Katy are amazing hosts and did everything they could to ensure our stay was comfortable and that we had everything we needed. This included ensuring a room was ready for a specialist bed which our son uses. The welcome basket was brilliant and our online food delivery was all unpacked and put away when we arrived.
There’s so much to do within a 30 minute drive. We explored lots this time but there’s more to see. We also enjoyed spending time in and around the Cart Shed with its beautiful surroundings.
Highly recommend! We’ll be back next year!

“Perfect spot”
Reviewed August 10, 2018 for a stay in July 2018

We chose Swallows nest to be close to the venue of our son's wedding. We were welcomed with a hamper of home made produce and dog treats. The barn was well equipped with everything we could possibly need for our stay. Extra touches, like the umbrellas and doggy pack were never used but extremely welcome. The owners John and Katy were very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble.
I will treasure the memory of sitting out on the private patio first thing in the morning watching the wildlife. Bird feeders are supplied and it was a pleasure to watch them feed. We also saw deer in the woods nearby.
The barn has been furnished to a very high standard which made our stay there verry comfortable. We were blessed with lovely weather which meant we didn't use the inviting log burner. Maybe next time

“A lovely week away”
Reviewed July 27, 2018 for a stay in July 2018

We have thoroughly enjoyed our week in the cart shed. John and Katy have been fantastic providing all the comforts you could need and complimentary hamper on arrival, fresh eggs galore and a lovely birthday cake for my daughters birthday which tasted beautiful. The property is well appointed with everything you could need and provided a comfortable place to return to after a busy day exporing the local area. Plenty of places to visit within a reasonable journey time. Easy to access a variety of costal locations from the barn or off into the welds. Bringing our dog he has been made to feel very welcome with plenty of opportunities in the local area to take him for walks. We came with our grandchildren and the property was childfriendly for a toddler and there was plenty to do in the area with her also. All in all a fantastic holiday. Thank you

“Perfect peace”
Reviewed July 15, 2018 for a stay in July 2018

We booked swallows nest for my 60th birthday break, from the ease of booking to the farewell this was perfect. A beautiful place to stay , large, clean and comfortable, with all thought gone into for those little extras. A lovely welcome pack, including one for the dog set the tone, the serenity outside was ideal, even binoculars to watch the wildlife, nicely located, 15-20 minutes to the village, which has most things you need,20 minutes drive to the coast, even a perfectly baked cake for my birthday, as many fresh eggs as you wanted, hosts Katy and John were handy if needed for any advice, we would love to go back
