We were 4 adults and 2 dogs staying here. All I can say is WOW what a place. Very spacious and very quiet with lots of wildlife around (small birds that arnt seen in towns, rabbits and squirrels). The cart shed is lovely and very comfortable and the owners John and Katy were brilliant and always on hand to help if needed but not in your face if you didn’t. There are also free range eggs on tap you just have to ask. The welcome pack is a nice touch and much appreciated. If you’re thinking about going on a country escape with or without dogs I would definitely recommend the cart shed, you will love it. I could carry on and say loads more about the place and surrounding areas but why dont go and see for yourself (ENJOY)
The woodland hut is excellent - a toasty warm log burner and the most comfortable bed we’ve ever slept in (we even asked the make of mattress!). Set in idyllic countryside surroundings, this hut has everything you need to escape from it all for a few days - cooking facilities, a warm shower, and most of all peace and quiet! There are some lovely local walks, too.
There Is a warm welcome from the owners, a handy local shop with most things you could need, together with a good local chippie and a delightful local pub which serves delicious home-cooked food.
Can’t fault this place - we’ll be back for more!
John and Katy couldn’t have given us a warmer welcome to their beautiful converted cart shed. They were also very accommodating when we hosted a dinner for our large family. Attention has been paid to every detail and we very much appreciated the delicious welcome hamper.
I would definitely recommend a visit and we can’t wait to return.
Just back from a lovely weekend spent at the Cart Shed. Such a beautiful, clean and comfortable property. John and Katy are the perfect hosts, very friendly and accommodating. They left us a beautiful welcome hamper and a homemade cake for our boys birthdays which was delicious! The accommodation is extremely well equipped with everything you should need. The bedrooms are spacious with very comfortable beds and the log burner in the lounge is great for when you return from those chilly walks. We loved watching the abundance of wildlife surrounding the property especially the cheeky squirrel that visited regularly to steal the birds nuts!! Fraisthorpe beach is a short drive away which is dog friendly and just lovely. Beverley town centre is also a short drive away which is a lovely shopping town with ample eateries and bars. All in all a superb place to stay. Highly recommended.
Stayed in the Cart Shed for two nights in November for a family celebration - my Dad's 85th Birthday.
The accommodation is of very high standard. A large open plan living area (kitchen / diner / lounge) with underfloor heating and a log burner, three good sized double bedrooms (two en-suite) and a large family bathroom. The walls of the Cart Shed are hemp insulated, meaning that no matter how cold it is outside, it is very warm inside.
Our hosts, John & Katy, extended a warm welcome and made sure that everything was perfect for our stay. A welcome hamper stocked with high quality essentials was provided and a small 'treat' basket was provided for our dog Jess. Free range eggs (delicious) were also provided and were replenished on request. Katy made a lovely birthday cake for my Dad, which was very much appreciated.
Because of the season we didn't make proper use of the patio area, but it was nice being able to look out and see an array of wild birds that visited the feeders.
All in all, this is first rate family accommodation and is ideally situated for exploring all that East Yorkshire has to offer.
Thank you John & Katy for the hospitality, we hope to return.
We can’t thank John and Katy enough. The cart shed is so beautiful! All you need for your stay, wonderful facilities if you wish to stay in some nights the kitchen is beautiful and stocked up. Located near so many places to visit too. Fresh eggs and bread upon arrival and eggs available from their chickens all holiday. You won’t be disappointed if you book to stay. So family friendly too. Nothing was too much bother for them. They even unpacked our food delivery for us from Asda!!
Thanks again!
We were looking for a Yorkshire-based cottage that sleeps six adults - with three double beds - for a friends reunion, and it proved to be a challenge, but it was certainly worth it for the result .. so glad we found The Swallows Nest.
Great location to begin with, but the cottage is superb - a beautifully restored cart shed finished to a very high standard, evidently well maintained and fitted with everything you could possibly need - the very friendly owners are close by (but not too close) if you need anything. We were lucky with the weather, able to sit on the fenced-in patio into the evening (who said it was October ?) to watch the stars, sadly not needing to light up the lovely log stove.
And the setting is gorgeous, surrounded by trees and fields in every direction yet close to main roads for Hull, Beverley, the coast and beyond. The village of Brandesburton is lovely with two stores and two excellent pubs (and take-aways) within walking distance.
Really can't recommend this find highly enough !
