“pEACEFUL STAY IN COMFORT”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 17, 2010

We decided to have a few days in East Yorkshire and tried the Tickton Grange in Tickton a small village near Beverley
The hotel is a converted country house in extensive grounds. On arrival we were offered a choice of rooms and we chose one with a view of the grounds. The room was clean and well furnished though rather plain with an excellent shower room and was well serviced.
The public rooms are spacious and very well furnished. The dining room was of a similar quality and the food was excellent, the menu varied and the service first class. The staff without exception are friendly and provide great customer care.. The hotel is not in a major holiday area and caters for business people, weddings and appears to be well known in the area for fine dining.. Car parking is extensive and well maintained.
The hotel gives easy access to Beverley and Hull with their interesting history. Hull also has a center which has been the focus of an excellent regeneration programme. You have easy access to the East Coast resorts and inland excellent scenery and many places of interest to visit.. Hornsea has an excellent shopping area at the Freeport for those who like to browse.
We shall visit again as the area offers interest and the hotel is very good value and comfortable and well serviced accommodation

Staying just one night after a wedding reception held at the hotel, we found ourselves wishing we were able to stay longer. A pleasant welcome,a beautifully appointed room and seamless service at the reception all pointing to a well trained staff and a caring managment. The next morning an award winning breakfast more than lived up expectations and left us even more reluctant to leave. We shall certainly return!

A fine country style hotel with well appointed rooms, bathroom fittings which actually work and comfortable beds. What more can you ask for?

Oh yes, a very good full english breakfast too, if you want it, and continental stuff if you don't.

The hotel grounds are very well maintained and pleasant to walk in as well, with bench seats scattered around here and there. Someone takes a lot of trouble over the appearance and layout of the gardens, and they delighted us.

To the proprietors, who hail originally from Northamptonshire, congratulations. A fine hotel. The restaurant is critiqued separately.

Stayed at the Tickton the night of a wedding and the whole experience was fantastic. The wedding went well with the staff attentive and yet allowing the guests to have a good time. The room was clean and comfortable, overall i would 100% stay here again.

We stayed here as it was a friends daughters wedding reception here so we had no preconceptions of the hotel. First impresions as we approached via a winding track was "this is wonderfull" So it proved to be. Cannot rate this hotel highly enough. All the food served at breakfast sourced locally. I could go on forever but my typing isnt that good!! Sufficient to say "JUST BOOK IT" if you are staying around Beverley, you won't be dissapointed.

What a lovely building, set happily in its history, surrounded by well-tended garden and woods. The scrunch of gravel under the tyres as you arrive is an overture to a symphony of pleasurable experience. Smashing big room, and the bathroom alone was bigger than some hotel rooms I've stayed in. Staff are incredibly attentive, but completely unfussy...kids in the bar getting as much care and courtesy with their bowl of chips as those happy guests having the full three courses, plus coffee and near-legendary Tickton Truffle, from the wonderful menu. The chef is creative and the food delicious. My Rhubarb triple dessert was brilliant, and the cheeses stunningly good. Local sourcing with pride absolutely oozes from the menus. I may have had the best steak I've ever eaten here! Service in the bar and especially in the restaurant was marvellous. This is a completely independent family owned and run hotel, a gem, a find, a treasure. I can completely recommend a visit without hesitation, and I hope to be able to stay again in the near future.

Stated here recently. Staff very freindly. Really nice room and the food was excellent.

Owners let me park my new car out of site although there would have been no issues as it's a lovely location and I'd definatley go back, and will be soon!
