The quality and presentation of the food was excellent as was the service. However the car park is pebbles and totally unsuitable for good foot ware, pushchairs, wheelchairs and anyone with a walking difficulty. The main entrance is an obstacle coarse with double doors and only one normally opened plus a step. We had a wheelchair user with us in the main dining room and the only access to disability toilets was via steps or outside over the pebbles. Even the regular toilets didn't allow wheelchair manoeuvrability. If you are going to spend over £50 a head you would expect the venue to be able to afford reasonable access for the disabled. In this century the excuse of it being a listed building is no longer valid. If the National Trust etc can do it then so can the Tickton Grange especially at these prices. We will gladly return ( 6 regular diners) but only when access has been improved to include all members of Society.

Had a lovely stay here at Tickton Grange. The surroundings and rooms are out of this world but the food was bland, odd tasting and just not what you would expect from a top class establishment. I would re-visit but not in a hurry, if the food had not improved or reflected its price then it would be my last visit.

We stopped off here for one night for some rest and relaxation on a hectic weekend schedule. We booked it on the strength of the food reviews nd were not disappointed.
We booked the fine dining package which represented very good value for money. The hotel itself is very comfortable and traditional having a well lived in feel, some might say it was getting a bit tired looking and it would be hard to disagree.

However this stay for us was all about the food and it didn't disappoint. The three course dinner menu was truly excellent, it is a long time since we have had food of that quality. The dishes were expertly prepared with fantastic quality ingredients and beautifully presented. We both though the meal was one of the best we had eaten in a long time. The highlight for us was the "Sweet Little Delicacies" a platter of tiny sweets and deserts we shared after our filling main courses, they were exquisite a real taste sensation.

We really enjoyed our stay here and a lot of that was down to the staff, they were very friendly helpful and efficient and it really does make a difference.

If I we are ever in the area again we would defiantly go back and I would also highly recommend it to others.

Stayed for three days. Had my doubts when I arrived late evening very tired. Walked into the bathroom and smelled mildew. It's and old Hotel but I was surprised as it is considered a little up market. Had a shower and went to bed. That was the last of the smell and the only thing that seemed wrong during the entire stay. In fact the shower was spotless.

Breakfast was great as are all the meals served here.

The staff are reserved but really pleasant and willing.

I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if I were in the area.

Tickton Grange, a country hotel I have used once before some years ago, is old in character but, for the most part, homely and comfortable. My wife and I were allocated a double room that, although it had the benefit of a window bay sitting area, was rather small. Similarly, the en-suite was small and narrow. We stayed three nights and paid £118/night for B&B. When we arrived, we simply wanted a sandwich or small meal, but it wasn't possible to eat in the bar or have a snack (other than by room service) - the restaurant offering a £37 3-course dinner and an alternative at £20. We found the food was high quality but limited in choice - one would easily go round the menu in a week.
One salient positive was the staff, all of whom gave us a cheery welcome and help with information and direction. The bar, which contained a grand piano, was an excellent place to relax and chat with others over a drink - it had a pleasant "old-fashioned" feel to it.
There is no gym or pool - so on balance we thought it was a tad expensive for what it offered us, but at the same time the unusual and unhurried atmosphere made up for it to some degree.

Room Tip: There is no lift, so disabled or very old persons please take note and book a ground floor room.

We attended a wedding in Beverley with the Reception at the Hotel. We stayed for two nights and found the Hotel to be excellent in its position, the decor, food and staff. All employees were freindly and helpful (except the main barman who must have had a bad day). The room was a small cottage in the grounds which was a delight and included every modern convenience with style. It was a grat weekend and we will be back. Special thanks to the delightful waitress at breakfast, for here smile, enthusiasm and helpful manner. Great to see in one so young these days.

Stayed last night the Dale Suite, room 2, which I recommend. Lovely helpful staff, great food and home from home. Just try it, you will not be disappointed. Easy to get to the coast from Hornsea up to Bridlington the back to an oasis of calm in the evening.

Room Tip: Dale suite becuse you're worth it.
