I have visiting this pub a few times, and must say it is superb.
Set in a picturesque village just north of Driffield, the Kings head is a almost forgotten sort of place, a real pub in todays mass produced microwave meal venues that seem to dominate the landscape.
The food is very good (and all home made) and the carvery was lovely, generally i am not a fan of carvery as they seem to all be dried up meat and overcooked veg, but this one changed my opinion. The Yorkshire puddings alone are worth a visit, a choice of meats and tasty varied veg.
There is a wide range of drinks available, including handpulls, but i cant really comment on those as i am happy with a pint of stella.
The landlord and landlady are very friendly, helpfull and round out a great drinking or food expereince.
The Kings head is definately worth a visit, you wont be dissapointed.

Called in for an evening meal, (mid week). Warm greeting on arrival in a friendly atmosphere. The bar man (landlord?) was very chatty and helped us choose from the menu pointing out specials for the evening before showing us to our table. Food came promptly, piping hot and was lovely. We decided to have coffee in the lounge after our meal which looked like it had just been decorated. Talking to some of the locals they recommended that we try the weekend carvery. Apparently the owners have just moved from another restaurant whose speciality was carvery food. Can’t wait to try it next time we are passing. A good find, well worth a try.

We went here after hearing new owners had re-opened the pub. We helped ourselves to menus, as no one seemed to want to acknowledge we were there. After half an hour waiting we asked if we could order food and were told to order and pay at the bar. We were not shown to a table, so wandered through, picked a table and sat down. Our orders were mixed up so we did not know which was the vegetarian lasagne, we were left to sort this out ourselves. My half chicken in barbeque sauce was more like a leg, with no breast meat, it was pale with a rubbery skin. All the sauce was lost when I removed the skin. the puddings were tiny, an not homemade. The menu is limited and unimaginative. Although we were the only people in the [place, some dishes were not available. Very poor service and food. We won't go back!
