Thought was going to be very good from reviews but smelt like old folks home, took 10 minutes to get a drink as nobody at bar and food very average

“Beautiful food in Thwing”
Reviewed October 18, 2013

On the advice of trip advisor we ventured to The Falling Stone in Thwing. We weren't disappointed. The meals were beautifully presented and prepared and the service was friendly and attentive without being over the top. While we would have loved to try dessert we were simply too full! Thanks for a beautiful meal.

“Wow, must go back again soon”
Reviewed September 20, 2013

Took daughter and hubby for dinner, both big city dwellers, and we all had a great evening. The kids are great beer enthusiasts, so where better for an evening? Landlord a great enthusiast for the liquid gold and keeps a good cellar.
Food, of course, was special, yes, it had that spark to make you want to come back for more.
Pity, it needed a few more diners to lift the atmosphere, but all in all, a great evening

“good restaurant in great pub”
Reviewed August 31, 2013

We went here whilst staying with friends in nearby Bempton for the Scarborough cricket week. It was Tuesday night, so we went to Thwing with some Australian friends over on holiday. The food was excellent , especially the pheasant pate, and there was a good choice of wines. I was a little disappointed that only 2 real ales were on -and neither was from the local microbrewery. This was soon forgotten when the superb jam session started up at 8 o'clock. This lasted almost 3 hours, and the music and atmosphere were great. An excellent evening's experience.

“Wonderful home made chips salad and sandwiches.”
Reviewed August 12, 2013

Called for light lunch when returning from a shopping trip to Driffield. Although the interior was rather dark the seating was comfortable and service good. We hope to return for a full lunch or evening meal in the not too distant future.
