Set in the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds step back in time to village life in the idyllic village of Thwing - just off the main York to Bridlington Road. A warm welcome always awaits for you from mine host. Enjoy a pre-dinner drink in the cosy bar before enlightening upon a hearty, homecooked meal. An extensive menu with specials available along with a wide variety of coffees to choose from and relax after a substantial meal served by excellent waiting staff providing service with a smile! Ample car parking. Will return as we always do - can recommend this for a lovely evening out.

A small village pub with a restaurant. The food (I had the asparagus with poached egg starter, the chicken and black pudding and fudge brownie pie) was locally sourced, fresh and delicious. Although the restaurant was quiet the night we went, the atmosphere was lovely, the staff attentive fun and unhurried, and we had a lovely evening. Well worth a visit.

My partner and i decided to try here after reading trip advisor and getting sick of the same old places in driffield. we rang up and booked which i think is always advisable. The staff were friendly and very helpful. we had a starter and a main course. the portions were a good size, i had the pate and he had a deep fried brie which was tasty and well presented. For main he had the duck and i had chicken stuffed with black pudding and wrapped in panacetta ham. Both were very nice and came veg, and we were given a bowl of homemade chips and a bowl of daulphinoise potatoes to share which we enjoyed and my partner and i like both! you can't beat homemade chips! we will certainly be returning and we were told before we left that the menu changes a few times a year to avoid boredom

My partner took me there for a meal last night Wednesday and it was busy strange for a small village pub mid week, the reason for this it's great.
The staff are very friendly it's unhurried good fresh locally produced food. We went with two others one of them being my mother in law , a very fussy eater who is put off by anything remotely foreign or modern sounding , they done her some lamb chops mashed potatoes and gravy , she loved it , what a hidden gem!
