Owner description: Take your cooking to a new level whilst enjoying the Yorkshire Wolds landscape. The Yorkshire Wolds Cookery School, 6 miles from Driffield, aims to show you how to make superb food and have fun. The School has been finished to a very high specification with the latest appliances and equipment. There is no need to share on our day classes, we have plenty of blenders for everyone! There are four island cooking stations each with a Falcon Rangemaster induction hob and double oven. One of the stations can be lowered to accommodate people who may prefer to sit. We offer bespoke cookery days where you can hire the school and, as an option, stay with us in one of our nine 4* Bed & Breakfast rooms. This experience is ideal for parties, families or business groups wanting the pleasure of cooking and eating together.

We sat on the hardest chairs in Driffield for 2 hours with 35-40 other people. During this time we received along with the talk - five what can only be described as canapes sized samples of tapas and five half glasses of very nice wine. The canapes were served into a paper serviette with one exception which was on a spoon. The booking confirmation reminded us to bring a cool bag to take away our completed dish, needless to say this did not happen. A disappointing evening for the payment of £50.00. Just two Yorkshire peoples opinion take it or leave it, up to you.

We saddened to read that the evening did not live up to your expectations. Our demonstration evenings are designed to be informative, fun and give our guests, as advertised, samples of all the dishes demonstrated by the chef. We are sorry that you left hungry but the evenings are to give you a flavour of the food and not to provide a substantial meal.
We are pleased that you enjoyed the wine selection.
Thank you for pointing out that the chairs are not comfortable and this is something we can look at in the future. It was our error that you were asked to bring a cool bag, this is for our day courses and should have been removed from the letter your received for which we apologise.
We feel that the combination of sparkling wine on arrival, five Yorkshire Tapas and matching wines, a two hour cookery demonstration and the knowledge of a local wine expert is excellent value for money and this has been expressed by other guests on the same evening.

What a lovely evening! Enjoyed a great informative evening watching Ali (resident chef) preparing innovative tapas using all local products and Peter (wine expert - Field and Fawcett) sharing his expertise in matching wine to the tapas. The tapas were extremely tasty and the wines were expertly matched. A very friendly atmosphere. Recommend! Guess what I am doing tonight - tapas and wine!

I attended a day at the cookery school preparing a dinner party. The day was well thought out, and the ingedients we used had been adapted to the individuals needs where necessary. The kitchen was beautifully laid out and easy to use and the ingredients top local produce. The instruction was clear and professional while maintaining a relaxed, supportive, informal atmosphere. I came away with a delcious meal for four people which my family enjoyed very much. I learnt new skills and have used the recipies again. I found the day informative, relaxing and very enjoyable.

I feel that we are so lucky to have this Cookery School in East Yorkshire. I have thoroughly enjoyed the four courses I have attended which have been varied in content and consistent in quality. It does not matter what level of cookery skills you have, the tutors will help you learn as much as possible. The recipes combine and balance flavours and use ingredients which are sourced locally where possible At the end of the day you really appreciate the top class ingredients you have used and which are produced on your door step.
All the staff are really friendly and support you throughout the day. Some ingredients are pre-prepared for you in order to save time and the washing up magically disappears.
From the welcoming coffee and delicious cake, the sit down lunch and the tasting session at the end of the day, the hospitality shines.
Any of the courses would make a welcome gift so treat yourself or another deserving person to a true taste of Yorkshire.

I attended the Yorkshire born and bred course with my sister. I've always wanted to go to a cookery school and this lived up to all expectations. On arrival we were greeted with hot drinks and delicious little cakes and it was a nice way of all the attendees to introduce themselves in a relaxing atmosphere. We were met by Alison who was our tutor for the day who explained what we would be cooking. Everything about this course was excellent the food we cooked and the produce we used, the setting and most of all Alison and the staff who made it a lovely experience with some laughs along the way. We met some lovely people on the course and enjoyed a relaxing lunch all freshly prepared. Alison has a world of knowledge and gave us some good tips along the way. The meal we cooked was delicious and when eaten at home everybody said how tasty it was. Thank you for a fantastic experience and I look forward to next time!
