“Perfect holiday home in a beautiful location”
Reviewed 4 weeks ago for a stay in May 2018

We had an amazing week at Raleigh Barn. The accommodation is finished to a very high standard and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and the peaceful countryside setting is lovely. Myles and Sarah took in our grocery delivery for which we were very grateful and also left a scrumptious home made cake, a lovely thought after a long journey. We were made to feel very welcome especially by Sally the springer who we fell in love with, we were so sad to leave when our week was over. The barn is only 5 mins drive from the main road which took you to all the major tourist destinations and luckily we had fabulous weather to visit them all. We took full advantage of the garden to enjoy the evening sun with a nice glass of wine. Also the stars at night are amazing with no light pollution, wish we had brought our telescope. Finally thank you Myles and Sarah for providing us with such a lovely place to stay.

“Wonderful stay at Raleigh Barn!”
Reviewed March 7, 2018 for a stay in May 2017

We had a wonderful stay at Raleigh Barn in May 2017. We were a family of three generations (Gran, Mum and Grandaughter). Gran is unable to work very well therefore this makes finding the right property difficult but Raleigh Barn was perfect for our requirements.

Our food shop was ordered and out away before our arrival, a gorgeous homemade cake also waiting, and a warm we,come by Myles and Sarah, the lovely springer, Sally and the very funny hens.

The Barn itself modern yet retains its lovely character, is warm cosy and snug. The surroundings in the countryside are heaven, and there is even meadow garden up the lane on site you can enjoy a picnic at! I personally enjoyed running around the country lanes and felt very at peace here.

It is very convenient for lots of really great tourist attractions nearby and there is a most helpful guide on local attractions and things to do within the Barn - do read it!

I hope to return one day. It really was a lovely week, and is highly recommended thank you.

“Lovely, well renovated barn in a peaceful location”
Reviewed October 13, 2017 for a stay in July 2017

We had a wonderful stay in Raleigh Barn and were made to feel very welcome. The barn had a lovely, homely feel and was clean, spacious and well presented. The owners' house is nearby and they were on hand if needed (and indeed came around immediately to sort out a minor issue we had) however they were not intrusive. They even took in and unpacked our food shopping delivery which was excellent- we arrived to a fully stocked home away from home. Both bedrooms had their own en-suite bathroom which was really useful. Everything that we needed was included- plenty of crockery, cutlery, a range of games and books, washer/dryer, towels. We received such a warm welcome which was lovely after a long journey.

The only slight negative was that the outdoor table and chairs were on uneven ground which made using them difficult and the garden space was quite small. Having said that, there is a meadow further up from the barn which has a path around the outside and the children could run up there when the weather permitted!

Overall we had a fantastic stay and would recommend Raleigh Barn to anyone.

“Wonderful holiday”
Reviewed April 24, 2017 for a stay in April 2017

We have just returned from a weeks stay and really didn't want to leave! The boys loved Sally the doggie coming to say hi everyday and the AMAZING cake on arrival. They were able to make good use of the surrounding outdoor space and I enjoyed running in the lanes. The accommodation was lovely and super comfy - the perfect place to relax and unwind after a long day walking and kite flying! We hope to return.

“Immaculate barn in a beautifully unspoilt part of Devon - perfection!”

We have just returned from a beautifully peaceful week in Devon. Raleigh Barn is set in the heart of the countryside and is the perfect place to stay. Hidden away down country lanes it offers tranquility and calm, however it is also close to many interesting places to visit and good pubs to eat in. The Barn itself is finished to the highest standard and is very spacious. We took my 90 year old father who enjoyed fantastic countryside views from his spacious double bedroom with his own ensuite. We also had a lovely room with an excellent shower ensuite. The living area was ideal, open plan with dual aspect and very light.

Myles and Sarah are welcoming hosts who are always available if needed but leave you in peace to enjoy your holiday. Sally the dog is a joy and is probably the best trained pet we've ever met, friendly but polite!

We believe this part of Devon to be very unspoilt and although it was the school Easter holidays it was not particularly busy. Appledore is a lovely place to enjoy a good coffee in 'Johns'. A superb Sunday lunch was enjoyed by us all in 'The Coach and Horses' - Buckland Brewer. We discovered 'Clovelly Court Gardens' which was well worth a visit with spectacular views across the sea. Hartland Abbey is also a must. We visited Hartland Quay and the lighthouse to enjoy further views of this beautiful coastline.

A truly perfect week away in super accommodation.
