“Fun filled day out”

My family really enjoyed the day, so much so that my 6 year old keeps asking to go back! There was plenty to do and see for children of all ages and enough to keep adults happy too!.

“Halloween Fun”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2012

We are regulars to the big sheep, on average 10 visits a year, we are annual pass holders, so only pay once a year. This visit was 2 days back to back. First time we had Halloween there. It was fantastic. The first year they held a pantomine, you would never tell. We enjoyed it so much we all wanted to watch again, but could not afford it two nights. Speaking to Wes the following day saying what a brilliant time we all had. Wes came to us during lamb feeding and handed us some free tickets, this has never happened to us before. We were there watching again on the final night.Brilliant stuff, laugh a minute stuff. So a big thanks to Wes, super guy, and a big thank you to John, they both remember us every time we arrive, both smiling, both welcoming. There is something for everyone, me being a male, the brewery is mine, I only drink real ale, and most of the beer I have been drinking the last 8 years comes from the brewery, about 80%.The kids 13 and 11 years just love not being tied to us, they do their own thing. We do believe this site is safe to let responsible children to do their own thing. The wife enjoys the sheep racing, we are getting a nice collection of winners cups. It is sad now the main season is finished, but the people need a break from us, well me, at 1o'clock I head straight to the brewery and keep going till the wife takes my wallet off me! So keep up the great work ALL at the big sheep. We will see you on 22 December at the farmers market, I will be collecting my real ale for the Christmas period. I must stop typing now as I can go on for ages.

Wow!! Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review!!

We are over the moon that you and your family are such regular visitors to the BIG Sheep, and find something to keep each of you entertained throughout your visits.

The show guys (and girls) have put so much effort into the Halloween Pantomime, they will be thrilled to hear that their hard work paid off and you had a fantastic evening!

We are already looking forward to seeing you for our Christmas Markets!!

Once again, a big thank you from us all here at the BIG Sheep :)

Kind Regards

Nicola :)

“Very expensive day out for not alot to do”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 31, 2012

We went here for the halloween half term break which seemed to be advertised everywhere, so we were very optimistic. Once you got in, you needed to pay additional money for most of the rides. Pumpkin carving was £2 per person. The only rides that were free were the swan boats and the swing ride and to be fair, they were the best, but the swing was only on at scheduled times. The face painting was very poor and the train ride was dreadful. I wouldn't recommend anyone to go here. Very disappointing. We were done in about an hour and had paid almost £40 to get in. No halloween atmosphere at all.

Many thanks for your review, we really appreciate you taking the time to give us your feedback. We are hugely disappointed that you left after your visit feeling disappointed and felt our attraction lacked a Halloween atmosphere.

We continually invest each year for our Halloween Festival. This year we had a number of added additions to our haunted house which were enormously popular with our visitors. Our haunted hayride, which had an Olympian theme, had a number of major new props which were designed to be fun during the day and transformed to a scary theme for the evening. Children and adults were able to enter into our Halloween themed fancy dress competition and our face painting was free so people could have their faces painted and enter into the spirit of the festival. This year, due to so much wet weather, there was a scarcity of pumpkins and we sold them for the price we paid for them and recruited additional creative staff who were able to help the children carve their own pumpkin. Also adding to the Halloween atmosphere were the spooky decorations around site, as well as the staff dressing up and our spooky pumpkin carving haunt.

I am surprised you felt you had to pay for ‘nearly every ride’ as this is not the case, our jumping pillows, tractor safari, train, twister and piggy-pull-along are all included in the entry price. This is also the case with our laser shooting – entry price includes nine free lives.

Entry to the park also includes 13 entertaining shows which are suitable for all age groups and include an interactive duck trial show, sheep shearing, horse whispering, beer show, sheep show, lamb feeding and sheep racing. As well as having one of the largest indoor play areas in Devon, children and adults also enjoy close and personal interaction with all our resident animals.

Once again thank you for your review. We hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay in the area.

Kind Regard

Nicola :)

“Great family day out whatever the weather”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 30, 2012

This is the second time we've been to The Big Sheep and we love it. There's lots to do and worth the cost of entry. It was packed today with nearly 1300 visitors but everyone still seemed to "get a go". Go and find Wes if you're there, he leads the duck event next to the indoor area and whatever the weather or your mood he'll put a smile on your face. Great people and a great place, well done for keeping the standard!

“A lovely visit to the Big Sheep, as always!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 29, 2012

It's half term and Halloween, and the Big Sheep has been a great place to visit, as always. Took spare clothes for the little ones for pumpkin carving but not needed as it was all really well organised and not messy at all! A real effort has been made to make the attraction spooky but not overly scary for little ones. It was fab and I really recommend it if you live in the area (we have season tickets) or if you're visiting the area. Well done, Big Sheep :-)
