Check in was very quick, chalet was really nice and warm. The entertainment and restaurant were really good, The takeaway area could be improved opens too late and not enough variety to choose from to other caravan sites i have stayed at. The price of food and drink were expensive. Could not use the indoor pool through our 4 night stay because it was broken, was offered to use outdoor one but it is too cold to use outside one the winter came back in march. It is a good place for kids. Supermarket is outdated and not near the complex.

Hi Kelly

Firstly thank you for your recent review of Bideford Bay Holiday Park. I’m glad you and your family found the chalet lovely and warm; we have recently had them refurbished over the winter 2012.

Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience that was caused during your holiday due to the indoor pool not being open. Regrettably this issue was something not in our control which unfortunately led to the pool being closed for your stay on park.

Once again thank you for your feedback, it is only by receiving comments such as yours that enables us to continually consider ways of further improving the holiday experience for our guests. I do hope we can look forward to welcoming you back to Park Resorts in the future.

This is now the fifth year running we have stayed here and it just gets better year on year. We arrived at 14:00 and Kelly greeted us like long lost friends, we were given our keys and apologies that the indoor pool was out of order ( but it was so cold it didn't matter anyway) the accommodation was impeccable as always. The staff in the manor house were fantastic. Rob,casey and joe even remembered us from last year which is the personal touch which makes all the difference.we have already booked again for next year and would recommend if you are going here go to the big sheep and the Milky Way. Bude is lovely and westward ho is fantastic.

very clean park, the accomadation was excellent, couldnt find 1 fault. it was warm and comfy. the entertainment was good, although the nightly bingo was abit of a bore, the food was good although rather exspensive, also the price of drinks was rathe high. £2.50 for half a coke and nearly £2 for a kids fruit shoot. £3.65 for a bottle of vk. only down side to our stay was the indoor pool was closed, due to a fault. but all in all a good weekend was had by all.

Reviewed March 25, 2013

Have just returned from the opening weekend of 2013 (march), (why someone leaves a review of a holiday 6 years later is beyond me)
The clubhouse has undergone a massive refurb since we last came 3 years ago, including an impressive decked area overlooking the kids park. The site itself is situated quiet a way out of Bideford and theres not much within walking distance (unless your here to walk of course!).
I cannot praise the team at this park enough, we arrived at lunch, and decided to have some food and a couple of drinks in the manor clubhouse, so, i asked at reception which caravan we would be staying in, in order to park the car before a couple of beers, reception not only checked where we were staying but also gave us the keys (because it was first day of season i assume, and there was no one to leave out before us). We were amazed at the quality of accomodation, for the money we paid - the caravan was like brand new, including full central heating. i was half expecting someone to come tell us there had been a mistake !!! The positioning of the caravan left a little to be desired though, no view of the sea, no view of anything in fact (also very little TV signal, which with kids, can be a problem !!). But hey-ho, we were only there for a weekend.BE AWARE, LIGHTING AROUND THE PARK IS POOR - IF ITS DARK, YOUR GOING TO NEED THAT TORCH THEY'RE GOING TO TELL YOU ABOUT IN AN EMAIL!!!

Bar:- As stated, new, modern and suprisingly acceptable on the pocket, dont get me wrong, its not cheap, but it compares favourabley to both Haven and Hoburne parks - for drinks and food. there were a lot of people eating there on each of the 3 nights we stayed as every seat in the room has a menu and table number - as apposed to a segregated eating area. GOOD IDEA. The staff, as with all the rest on site, were very friendly and helpfull!!

Entertainment:- As youd expect, kids animation team ok, kept the kids entertained !!! They now have a "Linked Bingo", linking 38 P.R sites !!!! I think this is brilliant, my Mrs doesnt. It means if your the only person wanting to play bingo, you can sit there and still play for big bucks - Sat night full house £1100 !! lines for £250 etc - BUT, as much as the staff tried they could not overcome the "im not playing bingo, i wont be quiet and i certainly wont ask my kids to stop running around screaming at the top of there voice" brigade (and there was at least a 6 FAMILY clan who adopted this). If there had been a claim i doubt anyone would have heard!!!!
Theres a little arcade attatched to main bar/clubhouse, a few arcade machines, pool table, a grabber and some fruit machines. Sky sports/ESPN for the footy too !!

Pools:- Indoor pool was closed on arrival, reception advised outdoor pool had been prep'd if required (on the weekend of the snow - when temps in Devon didnt reach 5c). Indoor pool small, i can imagine at busy times it isnt much fun in there - outdoor pool v. good including water slides

We'll certainly be back, no doubt back end of the season, already looking forward to it, many thanks Park Resorts Bideford Staff.

Tips:-
Clovelley is lovley, but at £6.50 per adult +kids admission it should be - walk form the park (in better weather conditions than March) and save!!
If, like us, your a travel at the crack of dawn and miss the traffic person, enquire about booking your accom for the day before you arrive - its cheaper than you might think (if available) and it means you can get the keys immediatley on arrival (as apposed to Bronzes 4pm/silvers 2.30 check in)
Go to Woolacombe and Ilfracombe if youve never visited this part of the world before.

Room Tip: the higher you are up the hill the better the view - but thats a steep climb from the clubhouse afte...

The park is superbly located and an ideal base for visiting Devon and Cornwall. Even though the weather wasn't great we had a great time. Didn't do much at the park really. Used the pool once- it was nice enough but the changing area is very small. Used the soft play which my two young boys enjoyed, however this was spoilt one day with older children being in there unsupervised. I mentioned this to reception and they said they'd ask the bar staff to try to keep an eye on this.
My boys enjoyed the young children's entertainment but it was very similar each day. Would have been nice have seen Sparky more often instead of "Socky."
The caravan, silver, I think, was pretty clean and adequately equipped. Only ate in the restaurant once- the food was basic but ok.

We love this park, its got a quiet country/woodland setting with great views and really close to the coast (walking distance if you like a bit of a hill.) Everything on site or near by. We love the pools, though more, warmer, changing facilities would be great. The on site entertainment is great, our 6 year old daughter loves Madness and Mayhem - hope its there again this year. We would recommend this place to all. We stay in a chalet - which having read previous reviews we didn't suffer from any damp problems or smells, ours was nicely kept and clean.

Room Tip: We stayed in a chalet which we love.
