We stayed for 2 nights at the end of March for our 1st wedding anniversary.

From the start of the booking with Christina - I felt we were in very capable hands.Friendly, informative and lots of local information and the best places to visit for our short stay.

Upon arrival, Beverley welcomed us and looked after us until check-out.

Awesome tea, the kind that comes freshly brewed in tea pots using soft local water and fresh scones, clotted cream and local jam. In the evening, we left it a little late to eat at the onsite restaurant as this was fully booked. Beverley's suggestion - in room dining, so back into pyjamas and fire up the DVD and dinner is served.

The twizzy is fun to get around and see the local sites - highly recommended.

We also met other guests relaxing around the Snug room, where this is a cosy fire, local info, more fresh cakes and an honesty bar.

We look forward to a revisit and have shared our positive experience with friends and family.

Having travelled extensively, the team at the Cottage Lodge receive a double thumbs up from us. We hope they maintain this winning formula and send our best wishes to Christina and her amazing team.

Room Tip: The Exbury was a fun room with over looking the front entrance with balcony.

My wife and I stayed for three nights this April. The service is warm and friendly. The rooms (we stayed in two different rooms as we booked at the last minute) were clean and well presented. We had our own entrance in the first room and stayed above the 'Snug' in the second room. One of the best features was breakfast delivered to our room - free of charge! What a luxury - not to mention DELICIOUS. Fresh bread and local produce. We ate at their in-house restaurant on our first night and were blown away by spectacular food and great service. We went for a few late night walks and were impressed with the darkness and quietness of the village of Brockenhurst. We will recommend this place to all our friends.

Room Tip: Each room is unique - check the pictures and descriptions on their website to choose a room that sui...

I'm not surprise this Bed and breakfast is rated top in the New Forest. From the moment we arrived with a warm welcome, a slice of cake & fresh milk for our tea to the quality of the bedroom all was first class. Breakfast was very tasty with local produce and served promptly. We stay regularly in the New Forest and we shall definitely be back.
The only negative was the steep narrow stairs to our room (Exbury Suite) which were fine for us but for those with limited mobility might be an issue. The breakfast room doubles as The Fallen Tree restaurant. I was glad that we hadn't booked the restaurant as it didn't look that inviting as a dinner venue. But if you just want a meal with your accommodation then it would probably be fine but we didn't eat at the restaurant.
They do room service in the evenings which might be great on another occasion.

Room Tip: Exbury suite excellent with seating area and balcony. All excellent!

I stayed here for one night with my boyfriend whilst we were visiting family - the most cosy, warm B&B I have ever visited - however certain aspects of our stay let it down - mostly at Breakfast. My boyfriend was not best pleased to find a knot of hair in his pot of tea, which put us both off and forced us to go elsewhere for breakfast! The lady of whom served our breakfast also seemed offended that we did not choose a full english.

Apart from these two negative points it was a great stay - the room was big but cosy and had good facilities. Parking is good and the snug is a great place to hang out.

Thank you for your kind words and for rating us so highly as a B&B. It is really kind of you. However, will you do me a favour? Next time you come and stay don't suffer in silence. If we do anything that isn't to your liking - such as the breakfast issue - give us a chance to put it right so you can forget about it and not let it spoil your valuable few days with your boyfriend. We love feedback. We take great pride in making sure everyone has a wonderful time. If something isn't to your liking - let us know. We are very friendly. We do everything in our power to make your stay as comfortable as possible but sometimes things happen. Nothing every happens on purpose. It is always just an error. I can't comment on the tea situation because it wasn't brought to our attention so we didn't see it. If it had been brought to our notice we would have been able to learn from it to make sure nothing similar ever happens again. We have taken your comments seriously. This morning we have had a meeting with all the breakfast team to talk about how we can make sure nothing similar happens again. We can't imagine how it could have happened in the first place. We got 90% in a recent unannounced food hygiene inspection from the EHO and we have a very stringent food hygiene routine. We keep everything in sealed containers etc etc. Anyway, the most important thing is that you and your boyfriend didn't get the breakfast you deserved on your well earned break away from the world. That makes me very sad because we could so easily have put this right. Next time - please give us the chance to put it right for you. Christina

We stayed here recently to celebrate out 1st wedding anniversary. We chose it as the review on here are very good and we stayed in the Standing Hat room. From arrival everything was really lovely and well organised for us. Lots of guidance on the local area and bonus is there are a few walks that are printed out and ready for you to take (very easy to follow). The room itself is really nice and spacious. Really loved the feeling of the room as it has furniture all made from reclaimed trees. Only slight disappointment is that we had real trouble getting the stove fire started (despite having a fire we start at home and so are used to it). Firelighters will solve the issue and we have left this feedback so hopefully that will help anyone else staying there! The snug area is lovely and they have free homemade cake available 24-7, and fresh milk that you can take in little jugs to your room, really nice touch. Breakfast is good here and you have a choice of having it in your room or in the breakfast room....really nice to have Gluten Free options - nice toast! Lots of fresh preserves too. Brockenhurst is a brilliant base for exploring the New Forest and I definitely hope we get to go back and stay here in the future!

Room Tip: Loved the Standing Hat for the fact it has so much space and all natural wooden furniture - plus a l...

We stayed here for a 2 night break at the end of March. We are expecting a baby in May and wanted a relaxing break away before the madness starts......we found it here.

Cottage Lodge is in a great location for exploring the New Forset and within walking distance of some lovely pubs and tea rooms. We stayed in the William 1 room which was upstairs in the B&B. The room was well furnished and very comfortable, lovely size bathroom with a corner bath and a walk in shower.

Staff at Cottage Lodge couldn't do enough to help, check in was quick and easy, free cakes in the snug a great idea as was the option to have breakfast in your room or the restaurant. We opted to eat in the restaurant each morning and were more than happy with the huge selection of breakfast goodies. Unfortunatley the restaurant was closed both evenings we stayed but we ate out locally using the suggested restaurants guide in the snug.

Would definitely recommend Cottage Lodge to others and will be going back when baby has arrived.
