We have just returned from a 3 night stay, it was a surprise for my husbands 40th. As soon as we arrived the staff were excellent in every way, the food was amazing as was the spa, beautiful clean room. We have a 6 year old so time is busy, she loved the den so much that we could have been on honeymoon, it was a true break. The only negative it that work is still being done but we were notified of this. Its expensive but you pay for what you get!!! If you like luxury but you want to take a young family, then this really is the place!!!!! We will go back!!

Myself and three friends visited in February 2013 for a twilight Spa evening. We were greeted on arrival by a very polite and helpful man. We were shown around the spa. It was lovely o be given our keys and to go into the changing facilities to find all our robe and slippers neatly stored in our lockers. We all took part in a joint mud therapy treatment. It was fantastic to be able to all be together to chat, giggle and relax covered in mud! Usually we end up not having the full group together during a spa session as one is always away having a treatment. We then spent the rest of our time going from the pool, to the sauna/steam rooms and to the outdoor Canadian spa. It even snowed whilst we were in the outdoor spa which made it all the more special. Would definatley be back again.

Just wanted to write & say what a fantastic evening I had at New Park Manor.I went to have dinner with some friends that were staying there & was extremely impressed! The setting of the hotel is lovely & ,even though I live in the New Forest myself,i still had that feeling of 'getting away from it all' in a very tranquil & beautiful location. The hotel has recently been refurbished & the new decor is wonderful, particurlarly in the lounge. You get a real home from home feel sat in front of the open fire & enjoying an aperatif or 2!
We enjoyed a fabulous meal in the dining area-again beautifully decorated. The food was amazing-had a starter, main course & even though I was stuffed i couldn't resist dessert!Standard of wine extremely good as well,& I am very particular about wine!
What impressed me the most was the staff hospitality-they were friendly, efficient & nothing was too much trouble! Was particularly great to see Steve, the manager on the frontline, getting involved & helping out in the dining area.He was very approachable, friendly & felt like he was welcoming you into his home-a great asset to the hotel!
Planning to go back & stay even though I live fairly close & enjoy the spa & the warm & wonderful hospitality again!
Keep up the good work!

This is our favourite family hotel in the world. We stayed for a month last year (yes seriously we did!), while we were waiting to move house, and we have never been so cared for and looked after. (which is no mean feat for a family with small children and many dogs..).
We visited our "second home" again today, and were so warmly welcomed by Steve and his staff.

The transformation of the interiors is quite stunning. Stylish, modern and truly sympathetic to its environment. But never mind all that, the hospitality is second to none. The food was beautiful, just what we needed after a long walk in the forest with two labradors, a wire haired dachshund and a Great Dane (yes Claude, that's you..). The spa was wonderful (I think I might have nodded off during my Elemis massage), and our little girls finally came out of the pool after about an hour and half, slightly prunish but tired and very happy... (as were the mummies who drank wine whilst they swam with the daddies.. oh, and ate some delicious cheese and biscuits too!).

Scarlett and Beatrice cried real tears when we left.. "I don't want to leave.. I want to stay here for ever...." I must admit, I agree with them whole-heartedly. We are already planning a weekend with our lovely friends and many dogs and children...

I have travelled the world as a PR, a military wife, and a teacher.. been to loads of places, both corporately and privately, but hand on heart, this place is my favourite. Simply because the wonderful, warm human beings who form the New Park family are very special and cannot do enough to make you feel at home.

We love you! Thank you for making our Good Friday, not just Good but BRILLIANT!

We have just returned from a 5 night stay with our toddler and baby (2yrs and 4mths). The place is totally geared up for families and we will definitely be going back. We stayed in one of the Forest Rooms (Cedar) it had a huge bed, a travel cot and a small bed for our toddler. It was a little cramped but it didn’t really matter as we barely spent any time in the room. The crèche (The Den) was great, we pre-booked sessions for the kids and it was great knowing they were in safe hands and only minutes away. Lucy in particular was fantastic looking after them and was always smiling and full of energy. It was the shame the weather wasn’t great as the The Den has a play area outside with lots of toys and a trampoline. We really enjoyed the spa while we were there. My husband used the gym and although it wasn’t very big it had all the key gym equipment that you need. I chose to use the spa while the kids where in The Den. The Canadian hot tub outside was great. The steam room wasn’t working when we stayed but a notice on the door said we could use the Rasul room which had a steam room and I did this, I think the steam room was fixed on the last day of our stay. The sauna was working fine as was the Jacuzzi. Unfortunately we didn’t have good weather when we were there but that didn’t stop us having a good stay. We managed to visit Peppa Pig World which was only 20mins away. We ate in every night and used the baby listening service. We could choose where we ate too, so most of the time we chose to eat in the lounge rather than the restaurant. Mainly as we still had our baby with us so we felt a bit more relaxed in case he starting crying, but also as it was so chilled out. The food was ok/good. My only negative would be that it wasn’t always consistent. We ordered the same food on different days and there would be differences. My chicken on one day was a bit burnt underneath (though I ate it and didn’t complain, maybe I should have said something with hindsight). I think the food and execution of it could be improved from ok/good to very good. The breakfasts were good and you had a great choice. There was a buffet style table laid out with cereals, pastries, fruit and muffins and then you could also order a cooked breakfast. The staff make this hotel special from Ben on reception, Nicola and Sarah in the restaurant and Lucy in the crèche. Steve the manager was always around and made sure we were ok and always had time for a quick chat/hello. Thoughtful touches throughout the hotel were appreciated, like access to toys everywhere without feeling cluttered, spare sheet for the cot, childrens books in the room and Annabel Karmel snacks. The hotel is still being refurbished and work is now coming to an end. We didn’t feel like the refurbishment caused us any disruption. I would like to see what it will look like when it is finished so I have an excuse to go back.

We have also rolled out our new menu this week which I know will help with consistency and improved our offering, as you rightly stated we had a couple of issues whilst you were with us. With our new menus in place now I am confident that the food will match our service. We hope that you will all be able to come back and see us again very soon.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Welcome to New Park Manor, a luxury family and dog friendly spa hotel in the New Forest. Relax in our spa, play croquet on the lawn, enjoy afternoon tea on the terrace or some family time in our gardens. New Park Manor offers the perfect destination for anyone wishing to explore and appreciate the unique mosaic of woodland, heathland and wetland that comprise the ancient landscape of the New Forest. The New Forest, Britain's most popular national park, was created by William the Conqueror in 1079 as a royal hunting area. In 1611, King Charles II chose New Park Manor as his favourite hunting lodge and his royal coat of arms is still displayed prominently above the fireplace in our award-winning Stag Restaurant. New Park Manor was carefully adapted for use as a country house hotel with 25 bedrooms and opened in 1970. Interesting details such as acorns and oak leaf patterned doors and original furniture and fireplaces can still be seen throughout the building. These commemorate the debt owed by King Charles to the oak tree which hid him from Cromwell's men on his escape to France in 1651. Today, New Park Manor is a beautiful, stylish country hotel, where the traditions of days gone by still live on and many original features can still be seen around the hotel. Bedrooms range from the splendor of our Muntjac our signature Family Suite to the contemporary style of our Forest rooms. Over recent years, our facilities have expanded to include a heated outdoor pool, croquet lawn, and our award-winning Spa which included a heated indoor pool and outdoor Canadian hot tub overlooking the New Forest. ... more   less
