We went here for lunch today. Arrived at 12.30 and hadn't booked. We took the last free table.

Service was quick and helpful. We both had sirloin steak at £18 a go. Not worth the money. Steak was cheap, fatty and full of gristle. Under cooked ( asked for medium and served very rare)

Food was barely hot and generally a forgettable experience. We have been meaning to go there since we moved near by last year, there are much better places locally, won't be hurrying back!

Elements of the menu rise to 'gastro pub' status - all the specials (esp, the cod) were outstanding, these stand alongside great pub classics, fish and chips, steaks and fish pie all of which were delicious.
Service friendly and welcoming, locals along side tourists and a pub where a pint is still OK to have without eating. If we had stayed longer it would have got a second visit.

Lovely friendly staff and great food and beer, thanks. We are looking forward to coming back and trying the hot stone dining. We popped in at around 2pm and there was a lovely roaring fire and busy, friendly atmosphere. If we didn't have to get to our next destination we would have definitely spent longer there. A stones throw from the station, I would consider popping up for lunch on the train!

We wanted a nice pub to unwind and have a bite to eat at the end of the day. We could not have picked better as this hit the mark. The staff welcomed us as soon as we walked in the door. The food selection made our months water just reading the menu and did not disappoint when we tucked in. The atmosphere was homely and just right after a busy day. A great place to relax and unwind. I'd happily return in the future.

The Snake Catcher is a lovely pub with very friendly staff. The hot stone dinning is a different experience and one we would recommend. Prices were good, service excellent and we could walk to it from our hotel which was a bonus Would say this was a place not to miss.
