We stayed here for the weekend on a wowcher deal, and were very pleased we did.
The hotel is a family run concern, and they are a very friendly bunch who made us feel very welcome. The location of the hotel is excellent, with great views of the beach from the front aspect. We went with 2 other couples, so I had booked 3 rooms for us and on arrival, as we were first to arrive, we were told we had been given a free upgrade, which meant we had a sea facing room. Our room was very clean and comfortable, with a very comfortable bed. Our friends were very pleased with there rooms and also commented on how comfortable there beds were. The only downside of the rooms were the size of the on-suites, but having said that, there were no complaints from our party, taking into consideration what we had paid.
The breakfast was very nice, with good quality ingredients and plenty of choice.
There is a nice conservatory on the front of the hotel, which is great for this time of year, for sitting in and watching the waves roll in.
I think the Edgcumbe is a great place to stay for a weekend break, like we did, or even better for a week or two in the summer, especially for surfers and young families.
I would definitely recommend the hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms are lovely, but sea view is special.

Just come back from a weekend staying at the edgcumbe in Bude. This a perfect seaside b and b with attentive and friendly hosts and in an ideal location overlooking the beach. The room was clean and modern and breakfasts were tasty and set us up for the day. We wish write could have stayed longer but would definitely return.

We had a great time, so near the beach and town. A lovely cooked breakfast each morning with plenty of choice. We were very grateful to receive a free upgrade to a sea-view room. Emma and the family were very friendly. Great place for walking and relaxing. You will see us again.
Thanks Emma :)

My first visit to The Edgcumbe has been excellent and I can't wait to go back! A genuine family run business, who make you feel so welcome, it was great. On a short break it was truly home from home. I slept very well, the rooms are fresh, clean and the bed was really comfortable.

The views were stunning from room 6, triple aspect straight out to sea and I could hear the roar of the ocean, simply brilliant.

The bathroom was small but functional with great natural products. Water, tea, coffee and Cornish biscuits supplied in the room. The tv worked with no fuss, and there's even cute Hector to take for a walk along the beach! Wi-fi in the snug worked well.

Breakfast was very good, lots of choice, well cooked and the ambiance of the dining area really warm. I ate in one evening in the comfortable homely snug. The food was good, tasty, nicely presented and their wine list is excellent. I have to say I would have stayed another couple of nights if I could have, it was so relaxing. All local amenities are within a short walking distance.

This hotel offers a unique quality service in a caring, warm environment. I loved it, I'm going back with friends and family and I highly recommend a visit!

Room Tip: Room 6 - first floor, at the front of the hotel, great triple aspect to countryside and the ocean.

We stayed here for two nights and honestly could not fault it. We received the warmest of welcomes on arrival from the friendly owners. Our sea-view room was just lovely, spotlessly clean, super comfortable bed, great bath/body products sourced locally and good quality tea, coffee and biscuits too. The breakfasts, too, were superb. Freshly cooked to order and a really good choice. The weather was pretty awful during our stay but the owners dried our walking coats and boots for us and laid up a table for us to enjoy a take-away delivered by the local Indian restaurant, when we didn't want to face the weather again that evening! Would recommend!

My husband, son and I spent a weekend at The Edgcumbe in September 2013. Our bedroom was beautifully clean, very comfortable and ideal for us as it had a separate bedroom for our son. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, the breakfast absolutely delicious with a huge choice. Would we stay here again? Most definitely, yes!

First time at the Edgcumbe and simply couldn't fault it. The service is friendly, the breakfasts stunning and the views of the beach and canal from my room were lovely. In a great position close to the town and the beach. Will definitely stay again next time I am in the area.

Room Tip: The rooms at the front front have the best outlook.
