What can I say? The whole stay was faultless. We arrived on the Thursday after a 5hour journey to be met by Jo and Emma, they were so friendly and gave us the warmest welcome. We were introduced to the family and given the keys to our room, we had booked a twin room and walked in to a large room furnished with a king size and a single bed. A huge bay window over looking the beach and a table and chairs in the bay. (as well as your usual wardrobe and chest of drawers) with an en suite toilet and shower room.
The first morning we woke to go to the bistro were we were served breakfast which was just lovely. (unfortunately due to wedding plans my brother had to rush off, Emma had a breakfast muffin made up for him and kept warm)
The rooms were cleaned to a very high standard, the snug was so cosey and the conservetary was so relaxing! We stayed here as my eldest brother was getting married and we all came home feeling so relaxed and chilled out.
The whole environment was just so warm and welcoming and we all found it hard to leave on the Sunday, it felt like we had stayed with friends rather than in a bed and breakfast.

This is one of the very nicest places I have ever stayed. The owners and their extended family are so warm, fun and welcoming, it feels like visiting the most wonderful old friends! The hotel is totally charming and the food is delicious! The setting is absolutely beautiful! We arrived on a cold, blustery night following a long day of travel, and were greeted with a big smile and a warm bowl of soup, fresh bread and a glass of wine...absolutely perfect! :)

Room Tip: The front rooms have a beautiful view.

This is a wonderful small hotel, a real find, run by an extended family who all seem to love what they do. Super-friendly service from everyone, and lots of fun chat. The location is beautiful, it overlooks the beach and the beach park, we stayed in a great room, with a beach view, everything was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Bude is also a lovely town - we picked it only because it fell half-way between other points we were visiting, but having now visited we realize it is a great destination in itself. Nice walks, beach, shops, pubs, etc. plus this excellent hotel.

Room Tip: We had a beach-facing room, which was a bonus.

We spent last night at Edgcumbe and were so impressed with the hotel and the owners. We had the most to do with Emma who was a breath of fresh air. I do a lot of corporate travelling and my husband and I also use hotels and B&B's when holidaying. The Edgcumbe was very tastefully designed - no fuddy duddy or fussy ornaments - just beautiful modern and stylish furnishings and finishes. We were a late Sunday afternoon arrival but were fortunate to get the last room which was at the back of the hotel but the room was still great. Emma was an absolute delight and what impressed us so much was that she loved her hotel, loved helping her customers and making all of them feel special, and she loved Cornwall and prepared a little itinerary for us to follow on our drive today.

My husband and i have just spent our 30th wedding anniversary at the Edgecumbe, we couldn't have chosen a better place. Very friendly, Fantastic room with beach view, Amazing breakfast( a glass of bubbly on our special day too). Always enjoy Bude the first time we have stayed, will definately come back to the Edgecumbe again and will certainly recommend it to other people.

We decided to try Bude, as we had never visited the north Cornwall coast and after seeing the reviews, booked three nights at The Edgcumbe. We got a wonderful deal and although we didn't have sea views, we were very content. Just loved the "Cape Cod" decor throughout the hotel, very light and clean. As mentioned in previous reviews, this is a family concern and there is just a lovely friendly warmth about the place, nothing was too much trouble. There was a great choice for breakfast, full English, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, continental and 3 or 4 choices of muffin. They also do coffees, cakes, sandwiches and snacks during the day and evening. Must also mention the sleep quality, our bed was soooo comfortable. We were very impressed with Bude, had a lovely walk along the canal and there seemed lots to do for families. All in all fabulous and would certainly return to The Edgcumbe.

Just enjoyed an amazing break at the Edgcumbe. Superb hotel and excellent staff. The rooms are very clean and bright with lots of nice touches like excellent toiletries from St Kitts Herbary. The breakfasts are plentiful with a good choice on offer. Nothing is too much for the staff who incidentally are very friendly and helpful. If you are staying in Bude look no further than the Edgcumbe. We shall return again and again!

Room Tip: The sea view rooms are an excellent choice
