“Ideal Location ~ Nice Room ~ Good Value”

We read all the reviews and were really looking forward to our stay with Ann and Bill. A previous review said they were offered fresh tea on arrival, but sadly we weren't offered a drink on arrival nor fresh milk for the room. So we made ourselves a cup of tea with the supplied UHT milk, but as there were only 4 tiny pots it wasn't pleasant. We went out that evening for dinner and were surprised on our return that the milk hadn't been replenished, which meant we couldn't have a cup of tea first thing the next morning.

We stayed in the Lavender room which is a good size and comes with a large comfy king size bed. It was well decorated and had good homely feel, the area is very quiet and we had a wonderful nights sleep. The bedroom window looks out onto open fields from which we saw rabbits and a bird of prey in the morning.

On the negative side, the room was a bit dusty in areas, especially around the plug sockets. The en-suite is small and there isn't anywhere to put things, this was a bit of a let down. Also the towels were really small and the heated towel rail barely warmed. There were also hairs on the tiles and a pubic hair above the sink. It was however well decorated and the shower worked well.

In the morning we were really looking forward to breakfast. We both ordered the full English breakfast, the sausage, bacon and poached egg were perfectly cooked and tasted lovely. However, the baked beans has been overcooked and had turned to mush. The fried potatoes weren't cooked properly at all, they had obviously been cooked in oil which wasn't hot enough, this led to them being more like a congealed greasy mess.... as the tomato and mushrooms had been cooked in the same pan, they were also covered in a greasy potato mush. The potato's ruined the breakfast for me, I would expect this in a greasy spoon but not in a Luxury B&B.

Thank you to Bill and Ann for a fantastic stay, I was staying here for business with my wife who came with me for a holiday. We had a friendly welcome and was shown around the house, The room was fantastic, nice space, comfortable bed and lovely view, one of the best places I have stayed in, we met up with the couple for a chat and was recommended some resturants in the area and they were spot on. The breakfast was lovely, I had the full english and my wife had Ann's Signature dish, which was superb. I will be staying again and recommend it to everyone.

Great location off the A39 down a short country lane. You cannot hear any traffic - just the countryside around you. On site parking. The little village of Stratton within 15 minutes walk by following the bridle way alongside the guesthouse - nice pubs to have an evening meal there. Also fairly easy walk into Bude either along the main road or the more pituresque route via well marked public foot paths. Good breakfast. Comfortable bed. Tea, coffee, bottled water and biscuits in the room.

After travelling for 4 hours from Nottingham to Bude, we were welcomed with open arms, offered cups of tea and shown around the beautiful Bosvean House.
The house itself was wonderfully designed, it felt homely and even had a guest lounge.
The people were talkative, attentive and of course very, very welcoming.
As a student, it's usually very hard to get up any time before 12pm, but here it was definitely worth it for the delicious breakfast that was served, of course they didn't just offer the standard cereals and English breakfasts, but a number of different, yet equally yummy dishes.
To top it all off, the beds were soooo comfy. Highly recommend this place to anybody considering staying in or near Bude.

Bosvean House is a beautiful house, in a very quiet setting, away from the crowds and traffic - but only a short distance to Bude and Stratton (where two very nice pubs await with great food). It is also only couple miles walking distance to the coast, if you are feeling fit.....which we were and left our Motorcylce to explore on foot and we were not disappointed.
Ann and Bill were excellent hosts, nothing was too much trouble, a welcome pot of coffee on arrival in the separate lounge, designated especially for guests was a pleasant reward after a long journey.
There were ideas for nearby places to visit, ordenance survey maps on hand and a wealth of information from them when needed.
There was a great choice for breakfast, from cereal, fruit, yogurt, croissants through to full English (or a variety/combination of your choice), or kippers.
The room was very tastefully decorated and was spotless and very comfortable, with unspoilt views across open fields. There is free Wi-Fi and flat screen TV in room and in lounge.
We would definately recommend Ann and Bill's B&B to our friends and hope to visit again in the not too distant future.

There were five of us and we could only stay one night because of our schedule we wished we could have stayed longer. Ann and Bill were very welcoming and when we arrived had a cup of tea in front of a log fire waiting for us. Breakfast was everything you would have wanted, the rooms were spotless (we had three) and all of us were very happy and hope to stay there again, will definately recommend.
