Description: Imagine…….. sitting on the veranda of a restaurant which nestles among rugged cliffs, gazing at the golden sands and the sea, stained scarlet, as the sun sets. Is this the Italian Riviera? No, this is Life’s a Beach, overlooking Summerleaze beach in Bude, Cornwall, where the location and the cuisine are as fine as any in the world. The wide ranging menu uses fresh local produce and reflects the creativity and travelling experiences of the young chefs. Seafood is a speciality, prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is always relaxed and friendly. The restaurant opens at 7pm but during the day it transforms into a facility for beach goers. There is an ice cream parlour, a beach shop and a café where meals, snacks and drinks can be enjoyed on the premises overlooking the beach or taken away.‘Lifes a Beach’ is already highly acclaimed as the place to eat out in Bude, so why not come and judge for yourself?

“Fantastic Location - Brilliant Bistro Food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013

Firstly - book early. I tried to book 2/3 days in advance to be told it was full on each night I requested. However they do have a few outside tables for which they do one sitting at 1830 if it's good weather. Its first come first served for a table and they recommend turning up between 1830 and 1845. We decided to risk going as we really wanted to eat there and turned up at 1825. We got one of the last 3 tables out of about 10. By 1835 all the tables were gone and for the next 2 hours we witnessed lots of people turned up and be turned away, some who were arguing for ages with the staff to see if there was anything they could do - sign of a great restaurant!

Location is amazing, the outside tables are perfect for a sunny evening. You can watch the surfing and the sea and after dinner you can drink on the terrace directly below and feel even closer to the action.

Food was fantastic. Good sized portions, expertly cooked and fantastically presented. Hats off to the Head Chef as the food really was outstanding. Food is so good that we were full up by dessert but we could have managed some good Cornish ice cream. Unfortunately its not on the menu (the only negative to the experience) which was a shame.

Great experience, book early or be prepared to turn up and risk it for the outside tables.

“I have taken this place for granted!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 28, 2013

We live in North Cornwall and Life's a Beach is our preferred place to eat normally. But this weekend we thought we'd go to Port Isaac as a treat to do something different. Well............ Life's a Beach has set a high bench mark for me because despite a coastal view the restaurant at Port Isaac just did not come up to par compared to LAB. So LAB I have had many meals with you and would like to say I have never had a bad meal, it has always been superb. My husband says though he would like more chips with his meal next time though!

“Wow! What a surprise. Delicious food in unassuming looking beach bistro”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 26, 2013

We thought we were going to be offered normal beach fare but what a surprise. We both had the moules mariniers. We washed it down with a very palatable sauvignon blanc sat on the veranda overlooking the sea. Super!

“Excellent food, good quality fish”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 24, 2013

Me and my partner went to Life's a beach for dinner whilst on holiday. We had a lovely meal, the service was excellent and the waitress was very attentive. The food was excellent, good quality ingredients and well presented. Recommend you book as they were very busy and had to wait a few days to get a booking. A sign of a good restaurant. A brilliant find and highly recommended.
