Having moved on from a B & B that had been just excellent in all ways, we just did not think that our next stop at "Breakwater House" was going to be able to match the standards we had just experienced. Much to our surprise and joy, we were not disappointed, Paul and Mary"s home and hospitality was all that we wanted from our stay, excellent rooms, on-suite and breakfasts. Breakwater house is also situated in a lovely location with excellent views, and with some very good eating places just a short stroll from the house. We will certainly return to Breakwater House in the not to distant future, hopefully with better weather than what we experienced in the summer of 2012.

Room Tip: All rooms viewed were of an excellent size and standard, offering comfortable accommodation.

We found the Breakwater by chance on the internet whilst travelling through Cornwall. Paul was very welcoming on the phone and asked what time we would be arriving the next morning, any time was fine! We were later than anticipated due to the Cornish Traffic, and when we finally arrived we were warmly greated and brought a hot pot of tea with delicious biscuits. Whilst we were drinking our tea, we had to leave the gorgeous view and take in our sumptuous bedroom! We had the "honour" of stopping in the Green Room, WOW WOW WOW, top class fittings, flat screen TV, lots of tea, coffees hot chocolate and horlicks in the welcome tray, and best of all, fresh milk and filtered water in the small fridge hidden away in the wardrobe. Minton accessories, delightful Egyptian Cotton sheets, sumptuous throws and cushions. I could rave on and on for hours about how gorgeous the room was, but the shower room deserves a mention too, high quality fittings, gorgeous shower gels and soaps, thick thick towels warming on the towel rail, even the door handle was impressive. We pre ordered our breakfast and snuggled down for an early night in our luxury room. Breakfast did not disappoint! Fresh fruits and yoghurts, hot buttered home made toasted bread, full cornish breakfast with umpteen cups of tea or coffee. Paul was so kind, Mary too, we felt as if we were stopping with our favourite Aunty and Uncle. Breakwater house is divine, we hope to be back soon, hopefully to stay in the Red Room this time! Thank you, for our short but perfect stay!.

Room Tip: 3 rooms, the Red room is a suite with balcony, the Green room is roomy and with the added bonus of m...

I have just arrived home from a stay in Bude at Breakwater House. It really is perfect, I honestly cannot think of any way that Paul and Mary could improve their facilites. The welcome was second to none, the accommodation is spacious, comfortable and clean, and the quality of food is excellent. Even down to the quality of the tea and coffee provided in the rooms, real milk in the fridge provided in your room, so much better than the little long life cartons. It didn't feel like a B&B, it felt more like staying in someone's home as a very welcome guest.

Room Tip: All three rooms have wonderful views of the canal and the beach, so you can't go wrong.

There are too many good things to say about Breakwater House. I've honestly never really been a fan of B&B's but the way Breakwater House is marketed and the warmth and friendliness extended by Paul and Mary (the owners) leaves you with nothing but love for this place.
Our room ('The Blue Room') was incredible - the bed was incredibly comfortable, the view of the garden from the balcony makes you feel like you truly are in paradise and the bathroom makes you feel like royalty. The beach is less than a 5 minute walk, the canal is directly opposite and the Strand is a 7 minute walk.
Breakfast in the morning makes you feel like royalty yet again, with cereal available as well as a full cooked breakfast.
Paul and Mary make you feel like you're truly at home here, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Breakwater House to absolutely everyone planing to visit Bude.

The food is delicious and the rooms are luxurious, comfortable and peaceful with excellent facilities. The green room was a delight to stay in with relaxing views of the canal and a glimpse of the coastline. We wish every b & b was like this one.

We stayed at this B+B for one night on 10 May2012. We picked it because it is described as the only 5 star b+b in Bude and also because we had walked past it many a time on previous visits to the town and always wondered what it might be like. It is located on the banks of Bude canal ,which I think is one of the nicest parts of the town with lovely views onto the beach. The house itself is very imposing and the rooms are decorated to the highest standard. We stayed in the green room which has view out to the beach and it was just lovely. Not surprisingly the decor was all green and done very tastefully.Special mention should be made of the beds, twins put together. They were described as orthopedic and could be adjusted electrically.Sounds a bit like a hospital bed but they were amazingly comfortable and dressed with excellent bedlinen. I can say without hesitation that both my husband and I had a very good night's sleep indeed and woke up lovely and rested. Breakfast was very good and our hosts didn't mind us making extra requests as to what we wanted to eat. Minor gripe was there is only one communal table to eat at, we prefer our own table but Breakwater House only has 3 rooms so I can understand why they would work this way. It was £82 for one night which is at the steeper end of the spectrum but I am happy it was money well spent. Our hosts were very welcoming and in conclusion it was a good decision to stay here.

Room Tip: The green and red rooms have sea views

First of all we were greeted by Paul and Mary,a lovely polite and kind couple, who know a thing or too about running this immaculate ,tastefully decor 5star B and B. We had the (red room) and what a beautiful room this was, with a stunning comfy bed ,and expensive bedding, and a lovely tv, and a balcony with beautiful canal and beach views,in the mornings we were greeted with a traditional cornish breakfast, which can only be discribed as ,beautiful .so if your looking for a classy B and B,this is the one you should be heading for.

Room Tip: All the rooms are lovely in this B ana B
