We ate here while we were self catering. The staff are really friendly and the menu is very varied. Each meal we had was freshly cooked and was excellent. Would thoroughly recommend.

Just got back from another fabulous stay at this very friendly and supeb value guest house. The owners, especially Amelia and Tim cannot be any more welcoming. The rooms are great, very well presented and very clean. The breakfast is unreal, must have put on half a stone in three days. The evening meals are very reasonably priced with especially large portions. The bar is so very friendly, especially on a wednesday when Gordon and Tam (Pure Malt) break out the guitars and entertain so very well, we also hit the quiz this visit, which was also very entertaining. The bar and restaurant is frequented by locals as well as guests, which has to be the sign of a great place. We cannot wait to go back and would very highly recommend this little gem of a guest house/hotel.

Very comfortable and clean room and nice breakfast. Friendly staff. Giood location on the main road through the town, but not noisy in spite of this. The car park is pretty small but you can park on the main road without restriction if needbe.

A last minute trip away for a couple of nights from home in the Scottish Borders and we booked the Old Rectory Inn. We've stayed in other B&Bs in Callander and they can be a bit 'meh'.

The Old Rectory Inn stands apart - genuinely homely with good quality rooms, comfy, clean with en-suite. The wee bar is a nice touch and the whisky collection impressive - cosy and a really pleasant atmosphere. We arrived on Wesnesday so were treated to a genuinely talented folk band and the bar was stuffed to the brim with good cheer. A truly awesome breakfast awaited us the next morning, great ingredients cooked with care and very very tasty. That set us up for an all day session fly fishing in wonderful sunshine. We didn't eat in the restaurant in the evening but after a visit into town wished that we had. There's always next time, the menu looked really good and based on the breakfast would expect it to be vey good indeed. :)

Would definately recommend. Friendly, clean, cosy, relaxed host, great food and nice touch putting on evening entertainment and different food themed evenings. Well done & would stay again.

Room Tip: Only four rooms so all good.

Haven't stayed here but had a meal last year which was good and good value.
However,we visited again recently...and were really looking forward to it.
What a letdown it was. The place was buzzing with flies! It was awful!
Had we not already ordered,we would have got up and left.
Also, the last time we ate in the conservatory, but this time were shown to a room which was cramped with too many tables too close together.
When the food did come,we wished we had left. It wasn't good at all.
Looks like they've got too greedy, trying to cram too many people in.
Such a shame as it was lovely before, but now the service and standard of food has went downhill We certainly will not be back. They need to do something about the flies. It was really disgusting. Made your skin crawl. Yuck!

We feel this review is totally unjustified, there was no complaint to us regarding any of these issues at the time and our table plan of both restaurants haven’t changed in four years of operating. Also we don’t have a conservatory on our building and as for food and service we are a family run business with 2 owners in the kitchen and one front of house along with a great team of staff behind us I can’t believe the food was Yuck the place made your skin crawl or that the service has gone downhill. Also we don’t force people to use our place you ARE free to leave at any time.
