A great taste of Scotland
Very pleasant stay in a lovely surrounding.
Kind hospitality and very friendly people.
The best breakfast of Scotland with a lot of choices and of course Haggis !
We certainly come back to stay again in Callander.

Room Tip: Stay here for more day's and visit the area.

Lucie & Sid really made this a truly home-from-home experience for my husband, 11 week old baby and myself. The rooms are clean, cosy and warm. There are hot drinks, books & dvds on the landing and a very comfortable lounge where we enjoyed a glass of wine and snacks in the evening. The breakfasts were plentiful & memorable, served in the friendly dining area where all guests share a table. Thank you Lucie & Sid for being so friendly, helpful and kind during our stay!

We've just returned from a short stay in Roslin Cottage and would like to reiterate the views of previous guests. This is a lovely, cosy cottage where you will be given a warm welcome and fed a breakfast fit for royalty.

For full Scottish breakfast read : eggs, bacon, sausage, Scottish Lorne (flat square) sausage, mushrooms, fried potatoes, potato pancake, black pudding, haggis and beans!!!!!! This is served on a help yourself platter. If this all seems too much why not try the smoked haddock- absolutely delicious. There is the usual toast, fruit juice, yoghurt etc. One of the best breakfasts we have ever had - and we travel a lot!

The 3 guest rooms are all quite different- see photos. The room doors were all wide open when we arrived so we couldn't help but see! We didn't go inspecting -honest!
We stayed in the Kirtle room with the superking (zip link twin)bed. We found this room to be very comfortable. Don't worry that the room faces the main road. There is double glazing and the road is so quiet at night. We slept very well indeed and heard nothing.

Because the rooms in the cottage are small, the tea and coffee making facilities are on the landing. There is everything you could need, including decaffinated coffee which is forgotten in so many places. Lovely shortbread biscuits too. There is fresh milk available which is so nice as we can't stand those little plastic milk pots that you often get. Lucy showed us into the kitchen and pointed out the fridge should we need any extra milk. What a lovely touch. You really are made to feel that you are staying with friends.

There is also a good selection of reading material and some DVDs that you can watch on your room TV. We were also invited to use the downstairs lounge if we wanted to.

As the cottage is on the main road you will need to park just down the road in the car park of the Myrtle Inn. (See photo) We didn't worry at all about the car being out of sight.

Callendar itself is a lovely small town perfectly place for touring the Trossachs. We ate in a few different places including "Poppies" which was at the other end of Callendar. Nice food - almost nouvelle cuisine and small portions but very tasty. The Italian restaurant Ciros served lovely food too but service was slow and the bottled water we ordered was opened before bringing to the table- bad practice we thought. Just outside Callendar is the Lade Inn - a pub serving delicious meals. Do try the steak and ale pie- superb!

If you are planning a visit to Callendar do consider staying with Sid and Lucy. Roslin Cottage is a great place to stay and well worth the 3 Stars awarded by the Tourist board for Scotland.
