What a beautiful luxurious room, very tastefully decorated with all to hand that you could need. The bed was so comfortable, you don't want to get up for breakfast. Owners Bill & Rita Kyle could not have been more genuine, welcoming and helpful had they been friends. We have a 5 year old daughter who was given star quality treatment from the moment we arrived till after we left. Rita sent her off with her packed lunch for the drive home and a new DVD!!!!!!
We wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else now and this will be our first place to recommend to anyone staying in this area. It is a must, whether you are a family with children or a couple. If you are only staying for one night - stay in to eat. Bill is a fabulous chef so you will without doubt enjoy the food, there is something for everyone & the meal is very reasonably priced so it will not disappoint in the value for money aspect.

Room Tip: There is an equally beautiful downstairs suite for those with poor mobility.

This was our third visit to Auchenlaich, and never disappointed. Excellent welcome, comfy beds, room clean and well equipped. Owners clearly care, nothing is too much trouble. We had to add an extra night at short notice which meant a room-change midway - this was no problem, even though it must have caused extra work and cleaning - thanks Rita!

We enjoyed Bill's fantastic evening meals twice during our stay - best steak ever! Claire's vegetarian options were excellent, too. Value for money superb. Breakfasts consistently brilliant, and Bill's porridge is the best start to a day in the hills.

Thanks again, Rita and Bill, we're already looking forward to our return visit, whenever that will be!

My wife and I found Auchenlaich on the Internet as I doing falconry in Glen Eagles. I made enquiries with Bill and Rita via email prior to booking and all my queries were answered and timeously. On the day of our arrival my wife and I were delayed having given Bill an Rita our eta. I called Bill and it presented no issue to them.

The Farmhouse was well sign posted and we found it with no difficulty. On arriving we were warmly welcomed by Rita who showed us to our room and explained everything we needed to know about our stay.

We completed a small questionnaire for our breakfast choices and left it in he dining room each night by 9pm. I remember reading in a previous review that the choice of a cooked breakfast was not offered. Given the choices are in black and white for choosing I find that hard to believe. We had the cooked breakfast both mornings. It was good hearty food and set us up for the day, plenty toast, tea, coffee and juice and well as cereal and fruit if you want it.

We had our 18 month old cocker spaniel with us, which you need to inform Bill and Rita of before booking as only one dog is welcome at one time in the farmhouse. He was also made very welcome and and Rita described walks from and around the site for taking him. Her only request was that he be kept on he lead for the start of the walk (5 - 10 mins) whilst passing the fields due to lambing season, which isn't an issue as there is plenty of country for the dog to explore off the lead after. There is a £5 charge/night for the dog for. Steam cleaning of the room, which we found reasonable.

We stayed in the downstairs double room with en-suite. Spacious and clean room, large double bed, free view flat screen tv, couch, tea and coffee facilities and even a wee half of Grouse to heat the chest. Central heating and an electric heater on the wall for an extra blast of heat if you need it. It is a 200 year old house and can get a bit chilly, but problem solved with the extra heater.

We could come and go and we pleased and Rita was able to answer and provide local information to suit all out queries.

My wife and I had a thoroughly good weekend and will return.

Thanks Rita and Bill.

Bill and Rita at Auchenlaich were fantastic hosts.
House is a huge old farmhouse with great rooms.
Very welcoming, great breakfast (Bill's special porridge was the highlight) and great facilities.
Enjoyed stay with our 5yr old nd 2yr old.
You have run of the house and are free to come and go, although any question or help required is dealt with easily and quickly.
Very friendly atmosphere, family friendly and very helpful. Asked Bill about a local caravan facility and when we got back to farmhouse he had a brochure and had contacted them for us.
Overall a great experience. Highly recommended.

We arrived early evening without prior booking and received a very warm welcome by the hoists Rita and Bill, our room was very clean, spacious and very comfortable. Rita offered to drive us into town which was a lovely extra touch we were also given brochures of local walks which we had planned to do the next day. The conservatory and dinning room are very warm and welcoming we both enjoyed a hearty breakfast this set us up for the day. The farmhouse is so so peaceful and decorated to a high standard throughout Rita and Bill make excellent hoists. We will definitely return and would highly recommend this as a place to stay. A great experience and superb value for money.

Having stayed at Auchenlaich on several occasions we knew that we were going to recieve a warm welcome and be shown every kindness and hospitality and we were not disappointed. The rooms we have used have each been of a very high standard, comfortable, warm and very well appointed.
Rita and Bill are excellent hosts and ensure that their guests feel at home. Nothing seems to be too much trouble. The evening meal has always been delicious and a variety of menu available.
We expect to return.

This was our fourth visit in as many years and we were once again made to feel very welcome. Nothing is too much trouble for Rita and Bill who are both very attentive hosts. The farmhouse is in a very quiet location and the rooms are clean and spacious, the dining room and the conservatory are warm and welcoming. The conservatory is a great place to spend a quiet evening chatting to other guests after a long day spent walking along the many excellent trails in the area surrounding Callander. The food is superb and I would recommend anyone who stays here to have their evening meals here too , the choice and quality is excellent providing great value for money. We will definitely be back again!
