“Very comfortable stay”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

My wife and I recently spent 2 very comfortable nights is this lovely traditional style Scottish guest house. The hosts are warm friendly, the rooms are spotlessly clean and the breakfast's are delicious. Lubnaig house is within easy walking distance of the centre of Callander making it an ideal base for exploring the local area (Callander, Trossachs, Stirling etc.) or as a stopover when travelling further north. It's set well back from the main road down a small side road so it's nice and quiet with a lovely large garden and plenty of parking spaces.

Great house surrounded by a fantastic garden. The owners are very kind and we had a warm welcome from Peter.
It is a quite place, set back from the road.
The full Scottish breakfast was very good and the advise from Peter for the restaurants in Callander was exactly what we were looking for.
Free wifi and parking in front of the house.

Room Tip: The Skye room looks down on the garden

The B&B is full of character with a beautifull garden and private parking. Peter, the owner, is very kind and friendly. Our first floor room was small and a bit crowded but it was next to the very nice lounge were we could sit and relax. The full Scotish breakfast was very good.
Callander is a lovely village and a good base for touring Stirling and the Trossachs.

Not only very friendly and punctual service, but the hosts went well beyond what is expected from a B&B by paying attention to every detail that can make one's stay an everlasting pleasant memory. Rooms are clean, comfortable and nicely decorated, radiating a charming atmosphere and suggesting the typical friendliness of Scotts and English. Breakfast is not only plentiful but tasty and stylish and there is a good variety of menus to choose from. We like everything what is Scottish and the morning reception in kilt was heartwarming.

Very friendly welcome on our arrival. Lots of advice on places to eat with a 'food guidebook' all prepared. Room was spotlessly clean and soooo traditionally British! Breakfast was delicious and made to order with no problem at all. Would recommend to those not looking for mega modern but prefer country charm. Very pleasant stay. WE LOVE LUBNAIG!

If you want to explore the Trossachs, a great play to stay would be the Lubnaig House in Callander. The couple who run the house, Crawford and Sue, are both friendly and run an excellent b-and-b. The house itself is charming, and our room was clean and very comfortable. The garden (or back yard) is quintessential Scottish with lovely plants and flowers. Breakfast is also good - the dining hour (8.30 to 9.30) may be a bit constrictive to some, but look at it this way: it's a good way to get you up, fed, and out the door to do your sightseeing. There are plenty of travel brochures to give you some ideas of what to do on your day out. If we ever return (we just left two days ago, so give us some time), we'll most likely stay at the Lubnaig House again.
