Booked this for Hogmany with family. Showed to our table but was not offered a drink despite the menu saying a welcome drink on arrival. After 25 minutes no one had come near. At this point a maitre D asked if everything was ok. We asked for drinks. He explained that after our order was taken we would receive our welcome drink! After another 10 minutes our order was finally taken. After another 10 minutes we finally it our we,come drink. I have never in my many years experienced anything like this. Surely the best policy if you are busy is to serve drinks first. Customers are much happier to wait if they have a drink.
It was obvious they were short staffed as the service was rushed and the two waitresses that were on did not take time to make small talk and my main meal was practically thrown at me. Also one of the waitresses although not unpleasant was not exactly friendly and it was an obvious effort for her to smile.
Considering this was supposed to be a celebration meal and not exactly cheap at £49.50 per head it was not an enjoyable experience. Although the food was very good, eating out is about the whole package. We were very disappointed as we had looked forward to this evening

The fire was very welcome on a cold Sunday in December when we arrived for lunch with Callander friends. We were very pleasantly surprised by the menu and food. Not huge quantities, which was fine as it was very tasty and we enjoyed a two course lunch.

We popped in here en route home to England, early one cold November morning. It wasn't long after 10 am, when they open for morning coffee. The welcome was warm - as was the room, with its fire blazing. The whole building is clearly a place of great character within Callander town centre and the restaurant interior mirrors this, along with the great ambience.

Having had a cooked breakfast further north, we could only justify a coffee - which was lovely. The lunch menu looked tempting for another time - the sort of dishes we love to choose. Once home, I checked out Tripadvisor and their accommodation - it all looks great too. I'm all for saving promising places in 'My Favorites' because you just never know when the right time will come up to visit a place - so 'Callander Meadows' is in the list now!

Lunched here on a wet Wednesday before Christmas. Sat by the warm open fire listening to Christmas songs drinking wine and consumed the two course set lunch. It was a complete joy and the food... French Onion soup to die for, the salmon with light curry sauce served with rice, roast pots, red cabbage, cauliflour and buttery carrots was so good I didn't want it to end. Great value for money, I highly recommend it. Looking forward to my next visit.
