Enjoyed an early dinner following busy day and we were lucky to be seated in the restaurant overlooking the estuary at dusk, it really was stunning. The mains were quite small and not enough myself let alone my partner! Desert was disappointing, but overall the food was okay. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. A nice place and would visit again but don't think the food is good value for money.

We went for a combined family lunch so our party totalled 12 for Sunday lunch. The staff were unfazed by the large party and our wheelchair member. Everyone found something they wanted to eat on the menu including children and staunch vegetarians.
Lovely food and great views over the river Teign. We booked again for another family meal before we had left the restaurant.

Well worth a detour, particularly during daylight. Log fires, good food, real ales & great views of the estuary, I could see oystercatchers, sandpipers, swans, cormorants, egrets etc from my table. There's an area of the pub which is dog-friendly too

Been to this establishment several times and always found it quite good for quality, portion size and service. However we visited on 30/10/12 for a table of 2 booked at 7:30, we arrived at 7:10 as we were running early, and were told they were too busy and we had to wait in the bar until 7:25. We noted at this point that there were approx. 7 tables currently in the restaurant.....

After waiting and no one coming to get us we went and asked and were told it was still not ready, after saying we have waited they said ok we will seat you. We were seated and this is when I should have just picked up on the signs and left, as when we sat 2 tables next to us complained at the wait on desserts and left and were asking and being declined a discount.

After waiting a further 10minutes of waiting our orders were finally taken, then this is when it went down hill, 45minutes later! our starters finally arrived, this was after asking 2 times and complaining once and everytime being promised "they are being plated now".

In all fairness our starters were not bad (Fish Cake and Mushrooms on Toast), however the portion sizes were quite small.

Then once finished and waiting 10mins for our table to be cleared, we asked how long mains would be again promised they would be plated now, 15minutes later they arrived. The mains were good with my Fish and Chips being a good size and my partners pasta being of a reasonable portion.

We were given a dessert menu, and I saw Cookie and Ice Cream, so asked how long this would take noting the previous time, and was promised 4 minutes. I really wish I hadn't had bothered as this turned out to be 3 very small balls of ice cream with at the bottom of a glass 4 pre made amaretto biscuits..... hard and brittle.

Overall we were very disappointed to see this place had gone down in such a short time of a few months, as we have had some lovely meals here before. Found it very poor that no apology was offered or explanation for the delay etc, and cant believe they were rushed off their feet with only 7 tables!

You couldn't find a better place to enjoy a meal or just a drink, sitting either inside or out. What a fantastic view! Food can be variable, but has been excellent on the last two visits this year.
