We came here on Friday 14th of June for the first time, and were blown away by the menu and the service. Food was out of this world, nicely presented, polite and friendly staff. We have vowed to make it our local favourite restaurant. So we came back again on Sunday 16th of June for another delicious meal. We aim to work our way through the menu. It has knocked spots of some of the restaurants around locally who are unfortunately going downhill. As another reviewer said this is like the Eastern Eye started out many years ago with just a small restaurant, now it is bigger it is not so good with mainly rushed service on busier nights. I predict that the Ghurka Chef will be so popular in the months to come that we will be pushed to find a seat in this 32 seated restaurant. Good luck to them and we will remain loyal customers.

We went to the Gurkha Chef as a bit of a change from the Eastern Eye based on reviews we'd read. It was well worth the visit.
If you can remember how the Eastern Eye started out years ago with a small intimate restaurant with great service and food, this was our experience again here.
Nice to have some new spicy dishes to try and the Goat curry for mains with momo's to start is a must!
I'd read comments before about the decor not being perfect, and I must say with great company, attentive service and awesome food I really didn't notice this at all. After all, I want to go out and eat great food, not breakdown the interior design of the place
This is genuine Nepalese food and they even do delivery. Spot on !

Only noticed this little gem on the off chance when walking past! After meeting some friends in town we decided to give it a go, and have now been twice in a week!!
Staff: Fantastic! Recommended dishes to us and were so friendly and joined in with our groups banter!
Food: Delicious! After being twice we have had 7 different dishes between us and neither could be faulted! Yummy! And on our second visit were even given the Nepalese Momos as a sample (without asking!!) which were to stunning!! My exact words were 'WOW'.
Overall: Well worth a visit! And we will definitely be back again!
I have told everyone about it!!

We will be seeing you again soon!

Didn't know the area but fancied a curry. Used the Trip Advisor app and found this top of the pile not far away. Having enjoyed a Gurkha restaurant before we gave this one a go. Not set in a celubrious area we were initially daunted.
No cause for alarm however as the food and service were first class. Just ordered mains with accompanying veg dishes. All piping hot with the correct amount of spices.
I would visit again if in the area and have no hesitation in recommending.
