That about says it all except that we went back and then again with friends. And that isn't because I couldn't get enough of their chocolate dessert :) One of the evenings there was an amateur jazz singer backed by one of the best jazz pianos I've had the pleasure to enjoy.

Go. You'll go again. And when you do they'll remember that you enjoyed perusing the menu in the cocktail area before a perfectly trained person led you to your table in the Conservatory.

It goes without saying this is a chance for that dress and heels we don't get to wear very often but jackets not required although they look nice in the setting - and don't worry: despite the old fashioned grace and charm of the place, the staff is informal and there's not a hint of stuffiness ever.

Lovely place to have dinner. Specially on Wednesday, with the Jazz on. From the moment you arrive till the end, when unfortunately you have to leave. Staff very attentive and the food is absolutely amazing. We are local and we've always wanted to try the Restaurant, we are just now hopping for another evening off from work to come back and visit them again. I would recommend if you appreciate good food, good service, good environment.

Lovely place to have a nice dinner. Not for kids but excellent place to take friend or just the wife. I think you need to book at the weekends as it was busy on a Friday evening. I love that you have a starter drink in a separate place from the dinner table. A really good idea for a celebration or anniversary.

Food was average for the price, we had expected something exceptional (we went for lunch and that was actually better) but was just good. The Fillet was outstanding but the chicken was a little dry and the crackling on the pork hadn't been seasoned at all so just tasted of fat which was a shame as that's always the best part.

Staff were fab, friendly and pleasant. It's not fast or pushy in any way which was lovely, only one sitting per table so you have all night and that's exactly what we love. Don't be in a rush if you eat here as you will miss the hole idea of this fine restaurant.

The Lord Bute has always been one of our favourite restaurants - a warm welcome, good food, excellent service in a pleasant surroundings. Friends from Australia were looking forward to joining us for lunch on Tuesday September10th as we had mentioned previous enjoyable times there. However, we were embarrassed and disappointed as the 2 young people on duty in the restaurant did their best but service was so slow in a very cold atmosphere. We will return again though.
