Description: Splinters is the ideal place for you to enjoy a first class dining experience in our private dining restaurant situated on the cobbled street leading to Christchurch's Priory.Specialising in modern international cuisine, our chefs and professional staff will certainly make your visit to us a memorable one.We will first welcome you to the bar where you can quietly peruse the excellent food and wine menus. When you are ready, you will be shown through to one of our intimate dining rooms, each with their own distinctive style, to enjoy your meal in a relaxed and unrushed atmosphere. We have worked hard to earn our reputation with our patrons who enjoy dining out on fine food. Our proximity to the Priory makes Splinters an extremely popular choice for wedding receptions. The same private rooms also make an excellent business meeting and seminar facility.Whatever the occasion, you can be assured you will receive our full and professional attention to making sure you enjoy your time with us.The owners, Paul and Agnes Putt, look forward to welcoming you to Splinters.

We went to Splinters for the first time yesterday evening with two friends. What a delightful restaurant - rather like a Tardis as it's bigger inside than it looks from the outside! We sat in a booth, which was very pleasant and I would highly recommend. Canapes were brought with our drinks - scrummy! The food was sublime - I had scallops to start which melted in the mouth, followed by the lamb which was deliciously succulent. Apparently, our friends' other starters and mains were equally spectacular. I refrained from a dessert but the 'mmmmms' from my husband and friends said it all! Each course was beautifully presented as well as being superb. Coffee was accompanied by complimentary delicious petits fours. The service was very friendly and efficient, and Paul, the chef and owner, came out to ask us if we had enjoyed our meal and gave us a potted history of the restaurant. The meal was expensive but reflected in the presentation and quality of the food. We will definitely return - I have to say that this was probably the best meal I have ever had in a restaurant.

We met some friends, who live in the area, but had never visited this restaurant. An excellent meal was has by all 6 of us, and the staff could not have been more helpful, including seating us in a separate area, in order that one of our party, who is wheelchair bound, could get easier access to our table. There was Muzak in the restaurant, but it was played at such a level, that we could all chat, without having to shout over the noise (another frequent complaint, I'm afraid). All in all, we would all definitely revisit Splinters!

Took my husband here for his birthday dinner. He's a brilliant cook himself but we both agreed the food at Splinters was very high quality and beautifully cooked. We both had the scallops to start, he had the venison and pigeon for mains and me the duck, all very nicely presented and cooked to allow the quality of the ingredients to speak for themselves. Would definitely recommend for special night out.
