Stayed at this hotel for one night. From start to finish the service at this hotel was excellent. Welcoming staff, lovely room which had a hand written post card from the MD welcoming us to the hotel. Lunch and dinner in the restaurant was very good. Really enjoyed our stay will be returning.

I arranged a 2-day off-site conference for work at the Captains Club. Great location, hotel is right beside the River Stour in Christchurch, Dorset. Beautiful well-decorated rooms/suites with fantastic panoramic views of the river. Outstanding service!! The staff are efficient, fast, friendly and it's obvious that they love what they do and cannot do enough for their guests. Special mention must go to staff: Nilu and Lena who worked so hard to ensure my conference arrangements wents smoothly and efficiently. Not forgetting Joanne and the other staff that went out of their way to help. The food was of a high standard, and the conference facilities matched any top London hotel!! So impressed by this hotel, I have booked a weekend away with my husband for our wedding anniversary next month. This hotel makes me proud to be living in this beautiful part of the world. Thumbs up to the Captains Club for great service, super location, and outstanding accommodation.

Room tip: All the rooms (suites) are great - very tastefully decorated, chic, panoramic views. You won't be disappointed. I stayed in Rm 102 which was a 2-bedroomed apartment, 2 en suites, a lounge and fully kitted kitchen.

A modern hotel in a fabulous location alongside the river.
Check-in is efficient and you are personally shown to your room. We were allocated a lovely room, so thank you again Joanne in the reservations department.
We dined in the hotel for the two nights of our stay and the cooking was to a high standard. Locals appear to use the restaurant which has to be a good sign! The staff in the restaurant are professional and friendly and throughout the hotel there is a pleasant relaxed atmosphere and you are made to feel very welcome, obviously a very well managed hotel.
Breakfast is good. The full English breakfast is cooked to order and is perfect.
What more can I say… if in Christchurch this is the one!

was sceptical about going for the third time for a family birthday (different members) however it must be said that the ambiance and location are second to none in Christchurch.all 8 of us had 4 different starters which looked good but tiny and tasteless. the main courses were the same bland and tastless.my rib eye steak was so poor I took one bite and realised that anyone prepared to send this quality of steak out must have a problem.the friendly staff offered to replace it with the lamb within 10 mins so it saved the night (almost).in our opinion all( 8 persons )the captains club has slipped in the ratings since its earlier days and has cut down on the quality of their ingredients to come down to a price which has to be said is reasonable.the portions are too small, the ingredients are poor so put the prices up and don't serve food down to a price as seems the case at present.THANKYOU to the pleasant and attentive staff for saving the evening.(if they need a decent steak/meat supplier just ask miller & carter where they get theirs from). WILL NOT BE GOING BACK UNTILL THEY ADDRESS THEIR FOOD ISSUES.
