“4 night break with dog”
Reviewed May 12, 2013

Not our first time at the hotel and we enjoyed the new menu. Once again the hotel lived up to its own high standards with great service. We stayed in one of the suites where our dog enjoyed the views over the river and we could relax in the lounge. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the location by the river marvellous.

Booked a table for lunch in the restaurant and we were asked to be there for 12pm as they were fully booked. When we arrived the bar area was very busy and noisy. We were left standing for some time before being shown to our table and noticed that during our lunch the restaurant was actually empty apart from a couple of tables.
The menu has changed to an all day menu which is fine but we missed the option of Al a Carte.
Food was very good but sadly the table next to us left as it took so long to be served and some ladies on a Spa day seemed unhappy with the lunch provided.

We have always loved to visit, especially on special occasions but something is missing - the CC seems to have lost it's special "sparkle".

My daughter and I were treated to a Spa Day from my husband at Captain's Club Spa. We had a wonderful day from arrival, enjoying the spa facilities, the "light" lunch was excellent, and we both had 2 treatments each which were amazing! (Body massage and facials!) The staff were excellent and extremely attentive. Lovely relaxing day Can't wait to go again!!!!

We feel that we couldn't have done better than this hotel !! Our son and Daughter in law arranged all the wedding reception at this hotel and what a job they did for them !!
We had 2 nights staying and it was excellent , the staff couldn;t have been more helpful with everything that happened
The Wedding Breakfast was excellent as were the rooms and all the food

Room Tip: Think all the rooms must be good because they all face on too the river

Just had a fabulous weekend at the Captains Club in Christchurch, its the sort of hotel that has that wow factor, never been before recommended by a friend decided to take my partner to this hotel as needed a well deserved short break, all i can say is that from start to finish it was a truly lovely experience.
The food and service was exceptional both from the more junior waiting staff through to the senior management who where more than happy to help.
The is an excellent selection of food and drink, the breakfast was to die for and as a special treat had it served in our fabulous bedroom, which had the most wonderful views and was a lovely room with a very comfortable bed.
Christchurch is a lovely town , the hotel is well positioned if you want to wonder into town or go to the nature reserve and a short walk down to the coast , weather was bit cold (was Bank Holiday).

Will definately be returning was truly memorable, thankyou again to all the team for such a great stay.
