Blushh is a good alternative to Soho Cafe Bar in Christchurch albeit it is sadly at the wrong end of town and so many visitors will not know it exists. It is a cafe come restaurant with two dining areas one of which doubles up in the evenings as a disco/dance area. It has talent open mic nights on a Wednesday and is lively in the evenings but was almost empty when we tried it for lunch on a Saturday. They offer a pizza, pasta or a burger for £5 - all look great and would normally be around £10. We had Penne Arrabitta (sic) and a "fresh made Italian style flat bread" Pepperoni Special pizza (extra pepperoni and cheese). Both dishes were very tasty and generous especially considering they were £5! Total including a couple of glasses of wine, bottle water and coffee £30. Also you get table service which you don't at Soho. Shame it lacked the atmosphere and ambience of Soho but deserves to do well.

I liked this place and I liked the food. Décor was modern and everything was spotless. Plenty of room between tables, plus a choice of seating style i.e. bar stool, soft sofas or conventional tables and chairs. My partner and I elected to have a pizza apiece and they were absolutely delicious - my partner remarked that he preferred his to ones he'd had at Prezzo. I noted that the burgers delivered to one table, as well as the bowls of pasta to another, were not only of very generous proportions, but looked and smelled gorgeous. Upon enquiring, I was told that the chef was Italian and skilled in the fare of his country. Blushh also has a DJ in the evenings and offers a very reasonable lunch menu. Did I mention that I like this place?
