“Barber Surgeon Evening”
Reviewed May 24, 2012

Our 8 year old daughter has been studying about Barber Surgeons at school. It is one thing to read it all from books, but totally different to see it bought to life.
We went on the evening of 18 May and as we travelled over an hour to get there we wanted it to be worthwhile, and it certainly exceeded our expectations.
The couple who 'presented' the evening were splendid, really in character and totally captured Spaghetti-minor's imagination. There were only 4 children there and the other 26 were adults. The children were all mesmerised and paid total attention to the evening. There were lots of gory details to keep everyone's minds focussed and the 2 hours seemed to just fly by.
Apparently there are a series of these "Night at the museum" events around the country an we can totally recommend them if this was a taster of the quality.

Lovely place to go, as often as you like. Free access, lots to see, brilliant costume history section, tiny but beautiful garden; a great asset to Christchurch.
