“Not to be missed”
Reviewed July 12, 2014

I have enjoyed Fish & Chips the length of the UK. This place is one of the best. Dave "mine host" is priceless and the young waiter will learn a lot from watching how he operates. I opted for the Skate cooked in batter which was superb. This was followed by Daves "hot and cold" sweet which filled us up to bursting. The one drawback is that it is 200 miles from where i live and on a Friday night (around the M25 etc) its a long way to go especially as it closes about 8pm!!! If you appreciate Fish & Chips don't miss out if you are down this way.

“Superb Fish and Chips”
Reviewed June 11, 2014

I stopped here on the way back to London. I used to live in Somerford as a child and there has always been a fish and chip shop on this site in my memory. Very pleased to see it again and my how it had changed. Chef and Maitre D here is well known local figure Dave, renowned for his culinary expertise throughout the Bournemouth area. Dave was on hand in his chef whites meeting and greeting customers in his usual jovial style. Impressive good value menu with something for everyone. Nice bistro feel and decor to the restaurant side. No drinks license so I popped next door and bought a beer to have with it. BYO very much encouraged by the establishment. Dave tried to tempt me with his trio of fish which sounded wonderful but I am not the greatest of fish and seafood aficionados, so opted for good old large cod and chips, which when it is cooked well is amongst my favourite foods. Gosh it did not disappoint. Large white flaky Cod fillet in light and crispy batter. Good hot fresh chunky chips. All finished off with a nicely presented garnish. Top drawer and among the nicest cooked and prepared cod I have ever tasted. Good value too as did most of the rest of the menu. I'm told the Thai Fishcakes are something of splendour. Nice one Dave. Shall look forward to coming back soon. Wholeheartedly recommend!

“Fantastic Fish!”
Reviewed June 7, 2014 via mobile

It is not often that 'Fish and chips' and fine dining come together. Brown's is an exception to this with friendly service, clean tables, an extensive menu catering for most diets (especially gluten free) and most importantly food that is to die for. Special mention goes out to the desserts which are simply mind blowing! 10/10 For Brown's Fish & Chips.

“Lovely food, lovely staff.”
Reviewed June 3, 2014

I've been going to Brown's for a few years now after finding out they did wheat free. The food has always been excellent and well presented, and the staff are always friendly.

“Best fish and chips and gluten free too!!”
Reviewed May 26, 2014 via mobile

We have eaten at Brown's several times now and the quality of fish and chips has been simply outstanding. They cater for every need and have been 100% reliable in catering for my daughter with coeliac disease.
We can highly recommend Browns for all ages, tastes and especially gluten free.
