Although this is probably the most expensive Indian restaurant in Christchurch, it has to be said that you pay for what you get.

We have eaten from the evening and at Lunch menu, and i must say the food and service has been nothing short of outstanding.

All food is fresh and wonderfully presented with attentative staff. We are vegetarians and have never been disappointed. You can taste the food, with the spice never being so overpowering that you can't taste the underlying "body" of the course. That said the "hotness" of the food is through taste rather than just burning chili and the like.

Highly recommended

The food here is always consistent and has some excellent 'specials' for instance the Masala Bay special. This tome I had tandoori chicken which was a little dry, but the accompaniments were excellent and the service was good.

I agree with another reviewer about the seating arrangements, it is a little cramped and the seats are not the most comfortable, although they are attractive to look at (wicker).

A good restaurant with consistent standards.

Been a few times - great food. Really fresh ingredients and subtle seasoning. Much better than your average high street Indian. The 'Masala' specials are really good and there's a large selection of fish and seafood curries (although they were happy to tell me their seafood was from frozen not fresh). Service great, friendly but not overbearing.

When we arrived we wanted have a pre dinner drink but the area by the bar had a table and we were ushered straight to our table. My first issue was that the tables are all far to small and the seats not particularly comfortable. When we had our main course with side dishes there wasn't an inch of space and we constantly had to rearrange dishes.
The staff need some lessons in how to serve a table as constantly leaning across you without the slightest apology is really irritating! The food was good but quite expensive as it worked out at £70 a couple with one bottle of wine. I won't be rushing back.
