I have been going to Pinocchio`s for many years, the food is fantastic and the staff lovely and friendly. Yes it probably could do with a bit of an update decor wise, but it`s all part of it`s charm. I have no idea what the problem is in having non - italian staff they are always polite and efficent, both the owners are italian and one of them is always there. It is always busy at the weekends and during the summer you have to queue for a table, thats not the sign of a bad restaurant!!!!

The staff were very friendly and accommodating, but the food was, at best, ordinary. Very disappointed that my Risotto Marinara was made with long-grain rice instead of proper risotto (Arborio) rice. My companion's Quatro Stagioni pizza had the ingredients mixed instead of being quartered; she said that she'd tasted worse and tasted better. Wouldn't object to eating there again, but wouldn't make an effort to do so.

I don't know what planet the person who gave the bad review on Ponicchios, but obviously they live in Lala land. The food, service and staff are superb. all freshly made (not frozen as suggest by some unnamed person) and all delicious. who cares what cou try they come from !! Valerio is a typical Italian. Please go, it is definitely worth a visit.

I just love Pinocchio’s,
Pinocchio’s is a rarity in today’s’ high street where it seems so many restaurants are identikit chains offering little more than ‘boil in the bag’ menus. Pinocchio’s is a small family owned and run restaurant and as near as I have come across in the UK to the sort of little trattoria you will find just off of a piazza in an Italian town.

It not very smart, it could do with a lick of paint and new loos, but its cosy and the walls are covered in Pinocchio memorabilia, drawings, puppets and photos.

What I like about this place is both the friendly atmosphere and the food. The staff always have a smile and a genuine welcome, nothing is too much trouble.

The food is typical trattoria fare, nothing fancy, but delicious, freshly cooked and very authentic. My particular favourite is the cannelloni, but all their pastas are excellent, always freshly made and never ‘heat lamped’ which is getting so common elsewhere. I have to confess to never having tried their pizzas.

I can’t comment on their wine list other than that their house red is very quaffable and reasonably priced.

If you have a youngster celebrating a birthday then you should put Pinocchio’s high on your list as they will do a typical Italian thing of bringing out a cake with sparklers, dimmed restaurant lights and much excitement.

Is Pinocchio’s posh, expensive fine dinning?, no. But it is a good, old fashioned, family run, trattoria serving simple but excellent Italian food in a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere, to be highly recommended. Just be prepared to wait for a table during peak periods, as it is very popular and in my opinion, deservedly so.

As the Italians say “godere” …enjoy!

We have been going to Pinnochios for 23 years and have always enjoyed the experience. We started going when our children were young, often for birthdays, and have continued to visit a couple fo times a year. The food is strightforward and tasty - although I would agree with a prevous reviewer who said veggie options are limited. Pizzas and pasta good value but desserts a bit more expensive. Nice warm family friendly restaurant. Had lunch today and had a good time.
