We were visiting Christchurch for the first time - I'd done a little research beforehand & saw good reviews of The Kings Arm Restaurant. We found it really easily in a beautiful spot ... we thought we were on a 'sandwich/soup + drink' budget so were delighted to be offered a 'special' of soup + main + drink for £10 ... and the food was divine! Some lovely beef & veg broth, followed by a beautiful piece of fresh hake on puy lentils with green leaves ... my husband had tarragon mouse stuffed chicken. The produce was clearly great quality, delicious and perfect portion size all served efficiently with a smile.
This standard of restaurant where I live, in the Cotswolds, would be chargng £25-ish for the same sort of food and another £3 for the bread .... with a serving of pretention on the side! (hence we very rarely eat out which made this extra special!) I wish we had The Kings Arms local to us ... if we travel back to Christchurch in the future I will be sure to drop in again.
