Fantastic little breakfast, that actually wasn't that little, especially loved the way it was served in a real pan! service was fantastic, I understand Tuesday is burger night, yet to get in there for that,
but, put it on your must try list!

We visited for dinner after walking past many times (we live locally). This is a cafe style restaurant which also does breakfasts and lunches. It was busy with a good atmosphere, menu is medium size but reasonably varied with burgers, steak, a few seafood dishes (see website for more info).
We had the dipping platter and scallop/black pudding risotto for starter followed by the fish stew and burger. The dipping platter was overpriced for what it was - some nice breads with varied dips at almost £10 is pushing it - the scallop risotto was very tasty though and ok value. The burger was nicely cooked, slightly pink in the middle but the fish stew was disappointing - it had a very strong fennel flavour (aniseed) which is not mentioned on the menu and meant that neither of us could really eat much of it. This is a bad oversight because fennel/aniseed is a love/hate flavour and I imagine other diners would have the same issue as us.
Anyway we had a dessert - the pavlova - which was slightly on the firm side but reasonably tasty.
Overall I think this restaurant is overpriced for what it is - especially the starters and desserts, although service was friendly and the atmosphere good. We may return but probably for a brunch rather than dinner - I think there are better options in Christchurch.

We've been here a few times for breakfast, lunch and dinner and had some good meal. This time we were very disappointed by the food and service. The ciabatta was dry and stale, the breast chicken was poor quality and the chef kept nibbling on food whilst watching his kitchen staff cook our food. Come on Alfie sort it out!

We came upon this little restaurant when looking for somewhere good to eat in the evening, while on a short break in Bournemouth. What a perfect end to a perfect day. The service was friendly and attentive. Cafe atmosphere, with restaurant standard cooking. Everything was made on the premises. My husband had the chicken and mushroom pie, which was full of fresh ingredients - flavourfull chicken (clearly cut from home roasted) and perfect pastry. I had the ratatouille with just the right balance of vegetables, all cooked just right, again lots of flavour and just the right amount of cheese. Salad came dressed with a delicious dressing. The puddings were to die for. We were so pleased we stopped for lunch there on our way home the next day and weren't disappointed. Not only that, it was good value with a pleasant, informal and relaxed atmosphere. We will definitely go again when next in the area.
