“Great start to our Marriage”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 5, 2012

We stayed at the Kings Hotel for the night of our wedding and the night after. I don't think we could have got off to a better start. We look forward to staying here on our future anniversary's. It is a great location in the heart of the wonderful town of Christchurch. The breakfast is the perfect start to the day, the rooms are spacious and inviting, and the staff were friendly. The only disappointment was that the guy who normally works in the bar who makes amazing cocktails must have been away for the weekend as we were looking forward to that when we got back from the wedding. Apart from that, this is a great place to come if you want a special weekend away.

Having stayed in the Kings a couple of time in the past and also the sister hotle the Christchurch Harbour Hotel at Muddiford (known to us as the Avonmouth), we took a two day break last week to finish off June. The hotel was great and we had a dbb and bb two night package. There seems to have been a complete management change over in the past few months and whilst generally ok we did have a problem over dinner on our first night. Having booked for 8.00pm we arrived in the bar a little befor eight and were served with drinks. By 8.15 no one had approached us so I asked for a menu, which arrived wioth a certain element of suprise. By 8.30, I enquired if anyone was ready to take our order when the manager asked if everything was ok. We said no, we have been totally ignored and wer by now starving. A large paltter of bread, olives and dipd arrived but still no one wanted to take our order. By 9.10 we got into the restaurant and eventually were served. Frustrating - yes , but we could see they were busy so why not just tell us up front, offer a glass of wine and we would have been happy. To just ignore your customers isn't good business. The following night we dined at the Captains Club Hotel on the quay. Would we go back - yes its still an excellent hotel

Room Tip: All rooms we have stayed in have been excellent with those to the back quieter.

Stayed here for a night the only thing we found could be a problem is the parking we parked in the layby next to the bowling green,if you do this you have to leave your keys with reception which didnt bother us but might other guests. The room was lovely everything you need and i was amazed that they had a ipod unit as alarm clock so bonus for me as i forgot my charger. The restaurant Jacks was really good we had the 15 mile in with our meal and as a cook found this to be a wonderfull idea everything is sorced within 15 miles and 3 courses for £15 and the twice backed souffle was beautifull. We had some lovely weather so decided to stay on for another night sadly the hotel was fully booked so we moved down to the Captains Club which is alot more money if you dont get a late deal and we thought that the Kings was the better of the two just for staff atmoshere and food but as i always say everyones taste is different but would deffinatly go back

My family and I arrived at this beautiful boutique hotel for Sunday lunch and was greeted by Neil with a lovely warm welcome. We asked him if we could sit near the window to keep an eye on the dogs who were in the car. He kindly said we were welcome to have our Sunday lunch in the bar area if we would like to bring the dogs in which of course we did. Neil looked after us with such a warm service throughout. He truly made the whole experience perfect. We will defiantly return to this hotel as not only the service was perfect but the food was absolutely amazing too and such great value. It is hard to find somewhere that does amazing food and is good priced. So if you like to be looked after well and eat good food then please do come to this fabulous boutique hotel.

My husband and I have just returned from a two night break at The Kings Arms in Christchurch.
We can't fault this hotel and we'll definitely return again. The staff were helpful, courteous and nothing was too much trouble. We opted for Friday night's Fizz and Chips and weren't disappointed. Best Lemon Sole I've ever tasted! The room was beautifully decorated and spacious and the beds were very comfortable. Thankyou Lukask for a wonderful stay.Look forward to a return visit! Hotel and room well presented. There is limited parking across the road in a layby where the staff need to move your cars around, definetly try to get into the back car park much easier...

Reception and bar staff all very attentive, staff in the restaurant were a bit more robotic but never the less the food was fantastic and reasonable priced for the quality. Bar serves nice cocktails with a smile! There is also a very nice lounge.

Hotel room and bathroom were well presented, we stayed in a loft room which was more than adequate space for a couple. Only issue was that as it was in the eves of the building and it was winding the windows did rattle and whistle a lot.

We also used the spa at the sister hotel which was well equipped with a warm welcome. A definite bonus to this hotel as you get the best of both with hotel in the centre but being able to use the pool etc down the road.
