“Wonderful Hotel for a Wedding”
Reviewed November 6, 2009

Nick and I had our wedding ceremony and evening reception at the CHH on 2nd October 2009. We highly recommend this hotel. The staff are attentive and friendly. The manager Adam has a good team working for him at this hotel. Cyan organised the wedding efficiently and Bogdan ensured the wedding day events ran as planned. Food was exceptional, tasted delicious. The hotel has beautiful views overlooking the harbour. The decor is very tasteful and our hotel room was clean and lovely to walk into. Very pleased to have our wedding at this hotel and stay overnight. Our guests also enjoyed the day and could not fault anything... Thank you CHH we will both be back again to visit and stay

My wife and I stayed here for 1 night on a midweek 'Rhodes South Stay & Dine' package (1 night, B&B, Spa use & Rhodes South 3 course meal). Saw the hotel reviewed in The Times some months earlier, double-checked reviews on Tripadvisor and liked the look of it straight away - newly refurbished, good waterfront setting, spa, smart restaurant, ideal for a short, relaxing break away from the children - we were not disappointed.
Am sure the package included a Bronze room but we were given a Silver room with sea view - a good start to our stay! Arrived early so had to 'settle' for a light lunch & wine on the terrace in the unusually warm October sun. Already totally relaxed and stress free before we'd even checked in!
Service excellent throughout our stay: reception staff, extra coffee/tea/milk brought to our room, champagne on ice when we arrived, waiting/bar staff. Nothing too much trouble.
Used the spa facilities in the afternoon. Not busy at all but enough people to create an atmosphere. Ideal for a few hours. Wife had a couple of treatments which she said were very good. Gym small (good use of mirrors to make bigger) but all you need for short stay. Changing room was cramped though, thankfully not busy.
Rhodes South was excellent. 3 course meal included in package, drinks extra (bottle wine, couple of cocktails and coffee for £40) but average cost for a quality establishment. Sensed most diners were staying at the hotel. Not busy either but again enough people to not make you feel uncomfortable. Very attentive maitre d'. Lovely food, excellent choices on the fixed menu (c. 6 - 8 choices for each course). Both my wife and I had the venison for main - beautifully cooked and very tender. Good sized portions and felt full by end of meal. Would recommend Rhodes South and excellent value as part of hotel package.
Smart contemporary room with all the facilities you need - ipod dock, LCD with digital channels, very comfy bed and super-soft pillows, quality bathroom. Not large room but didn't spend much time in it. Could sense, per other reviews though, that on a warm day/night it may be tad stuffy. We slept with windows open, shutters closed in October.
Good cooked breakfast with quality ingredients and good views across terrace out to the harbour. A long walk along the promenade to work it off then home to take up our roles as mum & dad - back to reality! Would definitely return and have recommended to friends.

Rooms/hotel too hot. Lighting/decoration 'dingy', a bit like Las vegas where they don't want you to know whether it's night or day. Spa OK but similar decor. Worst dining experience, hotel or restaurant, for ten years - scallops & lobster bisque starters served (luke warm) within 3 minutes of ordering and before wine reached the table. Pork & sole main courses followed immediatey so meal over in 25 mins. Everything tasteless and obviously pre-cooked and kept warm and/or re-heated more than once. Location probably great in summer when one can use the terrace etc but not on a wet & windy autumn day , also no decent alternative pub/bar/restaurant. Service perfunctory.

We took an "Autumn weekend break" which included a meal on the first night, so although it was more than we usually pay - it worked out as good value.
Hotel has waterfont location, we were lucky with the weather and saw a great sunset.
Fixtures and furniture in dining room/lounge are nice - very good help yourself breakfast, good evening meal, staff friendly and helpful.
Bedrooms and bathroom are modern, clean, very comfortable - lovely treat.
We had a large room at the front of the hotel next to the car park - there wasn't a noise problem.
The pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi are really good, again the staff are very pleasant.

We made a very late reservation on a Friday and the staff were incredible, finding us a beautiful room with a view and a balcony. They then managed to squeeze us into a very full sitting at Rhodes South and finally convinced the sports Therapist to work overtime, so we could have some massages in the wonderful spa. On arrival the staff were even more helpful and friendly.

This hotel is in a beautiful location, who would have expected to be able to enjoy drinks outside on the terrace overlooking the harbour on a mid October evening.

The spa is new stylish and very relaxing with all of the amenities you would expect of a much larger venue.

Small negatives is that on a busy evening the bar needs a few more seats and breakfast was very busy, as it was a Sunday so we sat and read the papers with a coffee and waited til the rush has passed.

We left pampered, relaxed, well fed and very happy

This is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in, the location was stunning( we were blessed with fab weather). Every member of staff I encountered was exceptionally well trained, really polite and very helpful even when they met some very difficult ppl in our party!!! The rooms were lovely & comfy if a bit warm especially the bathrooms. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone, you will be well looked after and very well fed!!!
